New profile Player Card

You can go here and see some more about your account
https://warthunder.com/en/community/searchplayers/

It would be nice if this information was available in the Player Profile, heck even
that hyperlink in game would be nice . . .

Thank you so much. Isn’t nearly as convenient as in-game but as long as I can find it again and the data isn’t lost forever, it’s good. Thanks again! Too sad that Gaijin doesn’t think this info is worth being accessible but the players are great.

It detracted from the soul Vam.
Yes, it didn’t tract from being there to tell us what it looks like however, it detracts from the style.

Your logic is like comparing a brick from 1928 to a brick made in 2024.
Yes, they are bricks however the way the bricks were made is completely different.
One tells a story the other does not.

There’s a common phrase that goes beyond language.
“They don’t make them like they used to.”
Modern-day things are done without care and are done to break with the bare minimal requirements.

Back then things were bound to break decades apart and easy to repair making them last even longer.
Companies went broke and shut down.

People are saying the same thing here: The new stat cards are soulless. They have a grey background with a render of a tank and a different flag.

The old stat cards transitioned from the 1920s ->Modern Day. From A tinted aged portrait to a modern picture.

image (Imagine with a Japanese Naval flag in the background)

One feels like it served in the 1940’s, yes we know it didn’t but its immersion maps tell a tale, but this detracts from it
The Other is completely soulless

Removing Stat Cards, and adding what is basically a Mobile grade profile GUI that is far more clunky is just making this game a joke at this point. There is a reason why there are over 271 comments. Honestly, at this point, everything Gaijin does is just gonna keep bringing them into a barrel over a barrel over the barrel of controversy. Yes, folks wanted new Stat Cards but this is not what we meant. What we meant by NEW Stat cards was updating the old ones not reducing, to just a vehicle render not even the tank in the game, and a transparent background.

The thing I hate the most about them is how inconsistent they are in displaying the vehicle. Some show a large plane in full, while others cut the wings out. Some face right, others face left, and some have a higher or lower angle. Personally, I don’t really like the pictures, but a toggle between old/new would be welcome.

You also got to see the pictures change and get nicer as time went on. '60s planes would be in early colour photos, while more modern ones would look new.

Hell nah. Fuck modern ships. Its ruining naval. I am sick of getting shot by modern quided missile in my ww2 torpedo bomber. Make them play their own game mode.

The Medal POV it’s the worst part, it works for the player who is working on it to unlock, but to show to the others, it’s ridiculous. It doesn’t seems like a properly badge display.

Yeah see . . . trying to go over applications for the Squadron just now and it’s basically pointless . . . no activity available . . did they just get on after months of not playing and applied, or is this an active player that would benefit our Squadron . … I simply now have no way to look at such information and it’s just a blind draw . . . this is a terrible change to our profiles that benefits no one at all . . . just terrible . . .

War Thunder has long since moved on from being faithful. I’d at least like further changes to benefit information clarity rather than obfuscating it.

from this we know. no one in Gaijin cares players voice anymore. this game is becoming further and further from where it began. that time, where we didn’t have little rewards, where we felt happy playing WT, where director won’t fight against users.

So Gajin still think they did something good with this profile update??? Hilarious.

Wishlist for a future update regarding profile card:

  • Return number of owned/spaded vehicles per nation. There is a lot of empty, unused space particularly at the bottom where it would fit nicely as it did before.

  • Again, return medals to the forefront of the profile. The whole point of earning these medals is to show them off. You don’t see military personnel in real life putting their medals underneath their uniform?

That’s all… for now.

I personally don’t mind the new UI overall I just believe it should be refined and the old information that was previously removed (ie read above) be reinstated in the new design.

Whoever designed the new player profile should be fired as it removed all the useful information such as player ranking in the overall community in each game mode along with all the other things that made it actually good to look at. In its current form it is totally useless and may as well not exist.

FIRE WHOEVER MADE IT.

Constructive criticism is always going to go over better than lashing out in a hateful manner man. The person that designed this may not even work for Gaijin, could have outsourced it to a web design company and just told them “we want it to appeal to a younger customer base” and presto! . . mobile web/game/tiktok vertical design that just doesn’t even fit well in our PC based game. And yes, many key elements were left out and that makes things even worse.
But, just like in real life, it’s not what you say but how you say it. No one needs to lose their job over it, all we want, as players, is to have what we had before even if they change the looks some . . . function over form in this case would be ideal.
They obviously misjudged how the players feel about and use the player profiles in game. I feel like the vast majority, that use it regularly, do want to see our vehicle, spaded and yes even premium/elite vehicle count. A great many want to see their medals/ribbons displayed as before and I personally want to see my PvP rating, winrate percentage, APR placement percentage and activity and yes, very much like the ability to see those things in an overall and Last Month display.
Someone has come up with a “melding” of our old style Player Profile adding in this new “Favorite Mode” thing(which still isn’t working properly as far as I can tell) and it was a most excellent blending of both worlds. All we can do now is hope Gaijin is reading this stuff here and doing something about what has been called a “work in progress”. Ideally they would make a post/comment about what is going on, acknowledge they have heard us and are working on a solution to make everyone happy . . . and maybe, just maybe . . . give us an ETA for all that.
The complete silence about the issue is very confusing and frustrating.
Maybe next week we will find out more . . . hopefully

Except it is Gaijin… they ignore both equally because Gaijin reasons.

They only do so when the riots are on and people lit buses on fire

I agree with you and I really believe that the way Gaijin is “outsourcing” projects is removing value from the game.

I wish I could disagree with this, but you generally right.

Edit: changed the tone to avoid locking of the discussion :D

Lashing out is the only thing companies understand as it is the only thing that will make them take notice and do something as when you try and be nice they see it as a mild and acceptable dislike of the changes so they stay on the current course rather then rolling the changes back.
This is something that is universal of nearly all companies and developers big and small as fact is being nice gets you nothing its just how things are regardless of how we want it to be.

Yes they do need to lose their job as there needs to be consequences for messing things up which is what happens in most other jobs.
