ye, but at 13.0 theyre relatively fine. F.3 late might be a 13.3 material if it ever gets Phimat, but theyre relatively weak airframes. I dont think R-77 armed MiG-23 would be that much of an issue.
In such case yeah, it can keep R-77s, considering that’s either or, unlike F.3 late or KMS that carry full 4+4 loadouts.
one issue i can already see from miles ahead is that people would call for the 23-98 to go lower than them precisely because they carry more missiles, and they would completly overlook the better airframe of 23-98.

i checked it and Moskit-23 is not PESA but mechanical slotted radar dish. Still a significant upgrade over cassergain of Sapphire-23.
bro the only good missiles on the mig-23ml is the r-24r radar guided. and only 2 of those. r-60 is useless like most ir missiles unless the person is unaware
And? It’s still a solid 11.7 fighter jet. There is literally zero reasons that can justify base bombing in a MiG-23ML
2 radar missiles, after those are gone just run away. to a base with 2 zb-500. in a uptier it sucks.

Flew again MLA few months back and im 80% sure the radar must be bugged otherwise I cant explain it not working even in perfect conditions.

i use MLD and this thing is pretty consistent to me. But i was raised and molded by Soviet radars so i can make pretty much anything work at this point. Nothing is more satisfying than landing 20km R-24R at some high altitude Phantom or Tornado.

I didnt get to use western radar until KWS, trust me, i know the struggle. But as i said, MLAs radar seemed to be bugged and I doubt that this issue would be limited to MLA only.
