New players leaving after 1 death

Gaijin desperately needs to make it known to new and all players that 1 death leaving is not “meta” or advantageous.

Even if you play grb at 2.3 you still get 1 death leavers.
You check their playercard - level 12.

Are they expecting a 15 kill match with no deaths and then leave when they dont achieve it or what?

You literally get 3 reserve tanks.

I have 42k matches but stay in the battle, players with 50 battles leave after the first death - do they expect more before the death? do they think they are that good that unless they have a mega kill streak, just leave?

Good luck with that.

I would really like Gaijin help new players and even experienced, by providing metrics and general advice, not these these dumbass “hints” they post during queuing.

There will be people who watch youtube videos expecting to replicate the results, even when using a dumb method (1 death leaving).

Gaijin, help educate these people because they are following stupid methods on a youtube video and try to apply it themselves without having the skill, knowledge or experience.

Imagine how many newer players are lost because of this.

There is no reason a level 12 should 1 death leave unless a genuine rage, these people genuinely believe this is the way you do it, which is obv wrong.

If anything - I should be 1 death leaving after not getting 15 kills and expecting to do it. - i have 40k battles. NOT- a guy with100 battles. AND even then - i still dont.
But some guy with 60 battles has an expectation of 15 kills and when he doesnt - leave - try again.

Whole thing is ridiculous.

Education is key and Gaijin SERIOUSLY needs to work on this or be a bit more open about mechanisms.

It even appears at all tiers.

  • Spawn in lemming spawn, drive into leming point with majoirity of lemming teammates, ignoring B, ignoring C, ignoring flank - dont get 10 kills, then leave.

Like really?

“my whole gameplan is based upon following the lemming train into a meatgrinder, if I dont get 10 kills before I die, then I leave, I am better and worth more than that.” - - level 12.

I see it at all tiers, lower tier players just need to be educated by the game.

The other experienced players who use the same mentality are just losers imo with a high expectation of themselves which usually doesnt work or they hide behind false pretences or simply quit.

Who are these guys trying to impress?

I hopped on my Italy loadout to try and get it out of early WW2. It was the snowy trainyard map with solo point A. The entire team bumrushed the train tunnel to cap the point, and within a few minutes the entrance was completely blocked by burning wreckage. Half the team left and it was 7 minutes of pain trying to keep my SPAA alive in some trees.

It actually is advantageous to leave after one death if you are grinding a vehicle’s modifications or lose your premium vehicle if you have no backups. All rewards are based on time and most players want to optimize their time and earnings.

Thankyou for providing a perfect example of the issue we all encounter and the type of person who contributes to it.

What bothers me the most is the kind of player who constantly complains about full uptier but as soon as they have a full downtier they ODL because they got slapped in the face.

“I just ditched my team and contributed to a loss because i only care about myself and a false perception of rp gains”.

I hope to see you in my matches, i will do the most stupid stuff ever, with 1 vehicle in my lineup, die immediately then leave ya.

Your welcome

It’s worth it because maybe 1 in 10 games i will get kill more than i get killed. Its worth fucking you over just to get that +1 k/d that i so desperately care about.

Come squad with me brother, i will do stupid stuff in the hopes i will get lots of kills, then leave you in the dust when i dont achieve it, you can send me thanks via postage, flowers are also nice.

you can squad with a guy who has 40k matches, full lineup of 7 vehicles and base my strategy off the team and map.
You can can go in like an idiot at level god knows what level, with 1 vehicle, doing the same shit as 99% of lemmings, die, then leave, I will stay and and actually play the game or try to win.
But this git with hardly any matches expects a 15 kill match then leaves, are you playing for self confirmation or fun or what?

“I managed to convince my friend to play the game, who was new, they only put 1 vehicle in their lineup, expected to get lots of kills, died, quit then said game was shit.”

Great Stuff.

Kinda the same at any br "99% of us will go to cap A point, 1 other guy can get B and C, while the 99% of us who went to A, did not cap, died then left.

Like I mean, even experienced guys should not and do not judge themselves by such a metric.

Reminds me of the time I tried to become world lightweight boxing champion just by using a jab then quitting when my shitty jab didn’t win me a world title on my first match.

exactly.

It’s not a false perception of gains when rewards are time based. The less gametime you play a specific tank, the less rewards you get. I am not the one that determines this.

I really couldn’t care less what you do. 1DL, stay in the air, not play the objective, AFK, etc., you aren’t a significant factor of my progress. What affects my contributions are my own time in game and actions within it. Wins are near immaterial when it comes to grinding.

So Abandoned Factory. Basically.

You can thank me for your wins.
You are welcome.

If anyone disagree’s sling me an invite, I will do the most impulsive things possible and get myself killed then leave you, you can thank me later for my immense contribution.

I could respawn and help and think more but no thankyou.

I done my bit that did not accomplish anything, you deal with the fallout while I queue for another match and do the same and hope for diff results and possibly fuck over the next team.

Heres a thought - I have all the vehicles, I am only playing for fun and the win.

Despite actually gaining NOTHING from even a really good match and not caring, the people who can gain LOTS, are the ones throwing the match.

Win or lose, kills or no kills, i dont care, I am waaay past that br.
But the people who are actually at that BR - throw matches and leave after 1 death.

Not only is it contradictory but it highlights the persons exaggerated opinion of themselves, despite being level 12, think so highly of themselves that after 1 death 2 and 2 kills - quit - im better than that, . . … . .

Leaving after 1 death does not benefit you.
If you choose to level 1 vehicle at a time in ground RB - you are a detriment to your team and you have a highly elevated opinion of yourself.

Seriously, invite me, I will provide an accurate perspective of selfishness whilst doing the most dumb shit ever.

For me, ODL has a lot to do with mental strength and egotism. It clearly shows who is able to put their ego aside and throw their arse into the battle for victory or whether they are only thinking of themselves and the miserable grind.
At the end of the grind is just another module or tank that doesn’t change the situation in the game. But if you are willing to react to a battle and the constantly changing situation, you can get more out of the game.

On the other hand, you also have to consider … what can you expect from a player who has already finished most of the matches before they have even started? Is he somehow still going to play as if he could win?
I call that the self-fulfilling prophecy. The players who don’t think they can do anything in a full uptier usually won’t either. What use do they have in the end?
In the end, the team with the mentally stronger players wins. I even won a match today in which we were under constant pressure from aircraft. But a miracle happened. The players stayed and behaved well and we won.

Then we have those who post tutorials on how to do good, leading them into that method because they’ll often fail to do what the tutorial says…

And they’ll be listened to because they wear their stats on thier forehead.
