New map design

Can i ask
Who was the bright spark that decided to mess about with, change entire maps for the worse, made nearly all of them funnel maps ,and basically turned this game into another world of tanks ?
The maps are one way system’s to the faster tanks slow tanks like the Churchill’s have no chance at all of even getting a half decent game because by the time you’ve avoided rubble, climbed hills , manoeuvred your way into a suitable position you’re either one shot kill ,bush wacked or the games over .
WHY!!! couldn’t the devs have left them alone in their original state and maybe add things like ,Defences for TDs , cut throughs , shallow ditches etc but no they had to rip out the good maps and give us wide open , flat killing grounds .
Please please in future what about a player -devs forum to discuss the map design or have some sort of interaction by both parties where players design maps and work with the moderators and devs to make it a playable design

Any examples of bad map changes that only negatively impacted gameplay?

38th Parallel. You now drive in canyons virtually to the centre of the map. All even remotely medium engagement distances have been removed. The canyons pen-in ground vehicles for easy pickings for CAS.

The balance of map changes have been overwhelmingly bad, with any minor improvement overshadowed by negative changes. And all with zero player consultation.

Fair. I’d also add American Desert to “maps that got much worse.” They made the flanks much smaller and much less meaningful.

I don’t remember 38th Parallel or American Desert being good at any point too.

That went straight to my ‘banned’ status, later replaced by Sun City. I find now that it’s also banned by many people as it rarely comes up. I change my ban to the latest “improved” map. Each map that’s “improved” seems to get banned by so many people that it is removed from the matchmaker.

RIP: European Province and Eastern Europe, Tunisia, Jungle, Middle East, Sands of Siani (so much pain, so much…), Mozdok (top left flanking spot).

each map has dozens of them (but keep it in secret)

its a repeat of when world of tanks made their maps funnel maps the players left in droves WOT lost money from events ,premium vehicles etc in the end they had to re design them again

white rock fortress will be total sxxx if and when it comes back .instead of totally destroying the maps all they had to do was tweak the spawns so no one could spawn camp but no they totally redesigned them because they dont have to play the game

Spawncamping is a consequence of bad gameplay decisions, not the reason that makes gameplay bad. But it is waste of time and effort to try to explain this to a WT game designer (from my 10+ year experience with this game)
