I feel like the Type 03 Chu Sam is very bad compared to every other SAM system purely because of the absurd VLS, how it’s pretty much a strict long-range only SAM, and how the missile goes straight into the stratosphere at 10 kilometres per hour.

Of course, we only operate the Type 03 Chu Sam and Type 81 Tan Sam Kai but I was thinking we need another one.

Initially I was thinking of something like an Indonesian NASAMS but two trees already have it, so now one that I would like to see added to Japan is the Taiwanese Tien Kung (Sky Bow) system.

This is all just a suggestion so if there are others, I would be interested.

Did any other country that is a subtree for Japan ever use Tien kung system? If not then why should it be added to Japan when Taiwan is already present in Chinese tree? NASAMS would have been a good choice if the radar was not bad since if would have a good IIR missile (AIM-9X) and AMRAAM ER
