On top of that, if airframe performance is all that mattered; then Gripen and F-16A would be king of 13.0 right now, and Mig-23MLD would be king of 11.7 having almost the exact flight performance as F-14A.

You can punch F-4Js and F-14As with AIM-54s and 7s, and that’s about it.
All 11.3s and up have RWRs to easily defeat AIM-54s and AIM-7s.
Also there is no perfect notch for F-14’s radar, it’s go to and/or beyond 90 degrees and the radar will cease locking, then you can maneuver back after a second or two.
Also how is talking about the F-14 derailing a topic about… F-14?

Thank you for the reminder. I to own the J35 but retired it once I got the Mig-21Bis.
It’s also the basis behind more decompression ideas in my mind that are currently on a back burner.
At the end of the day, we’re on the same side if we both want balance.
If it’s your job to show issues with J35XS, it’s my job to show how you can’t bring up an aircraft without bringing everything up.
That and F-104S is 0.3 better in capabilities over J35XS and I’m pretty sure it’s 11.3 as well.
Something we agree should be remedied.
It’s the first plane that is actually worth grinding and yall cope about it. Do you want other boring shit for 40k??

Where the fuck did I say flight performance is all that matters? For the F-14 it matters because it’s better in both BVR and WVR combat. Gripen and F-16 lack the range to compete with their peers, which doesn’t apply to the F-14 which can go faster and higher than anything else that can carry 7Fs below it.

Completely disregarding the overexaggeration in that statement, needing to defend against is what puts you at the aforementioned disadvantage. The F-14 can go cold and defeat anything while still having missiles homing in on you.
Eh well, I prefer RSAF Tornado ADV than IRIAF F-14A though…
I agrees that IRIAF F-14A is worthful for grinding dreadful 45k grinding in every 48 hours.

F-14A’s BVR is seen at 12.0 with F-4J.
F-14WVR is seen at 11.7 with Mig-23MLD.
The reason F-14A is 12.3 is cause it also has ARHs people largely intentionally die to.
Also, F-14A’s time to altitude is identical to that of Tornado F3.
I’m not on the desktop to check the F-4’s time to altitude video tho. It’s gonna be about equal though.
F-14A is as fast in top speed and acceleration as Tornado F3, and dogfights like a Mig-23MLD.
But dogfighting hasn’t been the meta in years; meta’s been boom and zoom, and more recently BVR.
And no, defending against IR missiles puts you at disadvantage… defending against radar missiles puts the host radar at disadvantage.
Here’s why: In front of an aircraft’s radar is a cone of tracking.
On lock, they’re limited in which maneuvers they can do, and limited in how they can approach you.
You as the “defensive” aircraft don’t have these limitations other than you can’t directly go at them.
What I’ve been doing for the passed 2+ years is I notch, close, merge, frag.
I let them come in on my side, and I use that to handily reverse them.
It has worked on every aircraft that has shot a radar missile at me, cause they think they have a target that’s dumb and think their IR missile will function as they predict.
And if an F-14A goes cold, then I’m in an even better position cause then they’re letting me be the one that dictates the fight entirely!
An F-14A going cold is the worst mistake they can make on a target they launched on, especially if they lack friendlies nearby.
gaijin devs wouldnt dare to put it on another nations but will happily give almost every nation a variant of the mig-21’s or 29

Agreed about F-14A is good rn but, M2K is next level from F-14A in ARB and ASB.
I still not played M2K after BR decompression but, when I played this thing, It is quite insane to have a Magic 2 that can be an “I win” button in most cases, while still having a decent FM.
I have no idea why M2K is still 12.3 tbh.
