My guy, FOX-3s dont kill past 15 km if you pay attention to the RWR, even under 7 if you are lucky and do have your monitor on.
Range is nice and all, but half the kills are at close range when you dont have time to notch, relying on the enemy being afk at +50km for a missile to kill is… something.
And AIM-120 are just not it at the moment, and if the AIM-120D cant turn like the AAM-4 at least it will be DOA
Try not tree hugging I guess and you’ll manage. You can just also not fire the aim120 within 3km I guess, shouldn’t be that hard. With your logic the meteor will be the shittiest missile in the game

This just goes straight to my point about not using your strenghts. When I spaded the sm2 60% or more of the people climb and bvr. The only plane that was fighting within the 3km range was the rafale for obvious reasons. The only way you will put pressure on an enemy is by spamming missiles, this happens from early to mid game. If you have plane with a lot of missiles, the range advantage becomes more obvious.

Correct, but that presure is not a real presure unless you have multiple missiles comming from diferent directions, but this is just adding external factors when we are comparing the missile performance alone.
Anyone that has played every kind of fox-3 will tell you how bad the AIm-120 are thanks to not pulling at all. As someone who plays in tournaments and has used the AIM-120, I can assure you that its one of the most irrelevant missiles when almost every kills happens at least 5km away, kills that the AIM-120 just cant get because at close range is the worst of them all.
At long ranges its the best, but that doesnt works against people that have an active brain function.
