i feel like with the new bomber buffs their should rework how bases are done below 8.7
This could be done by just having more bases or a faster respawn.
However something i would like to see if a new game mode where’s its something [like 1 bomber for every 5 fighters ( edited )] where’s there’s only 1 base like an airfield that has a massive HP that would require multiple bombers to kill with a need to RTB
The way a team could win the game is by killing all bombers for the fighters team or for the bombers to fully kill the base and possibly land at the original airfield
btw i’m new at using the forums so if anyone has said this already sorry

Similar things have been suggested for years, with current bomber DMs you would need way more fighters but it could work. There have been events in the past with escorts as well that were quite succesful
Bombers do not really fit in any of the current gamemodes, especially air RB. They are slow-paced PvE vehicles that are tedious and boring to play against in a fast-paced PvP environment. Even when they were weak they were an annoyance, not they completely disrupt and break the flow of matches
The solution to the bomber problem was always to move them to a separate gamemode but Gaijins is allergic to such a concept. With this update we just went back to the 2014 meta that was universally hated

Interesting idea, but you’d need 5 fighters for one bombers with the current damage models.
id rather see lower tier nuclear escalation first tho
i do agree it’s unlikely for a whole new gamemode but maybe something like 1 base spawn for every medium/ heavy bomber so people don’t need to fight their team for bases also i swear we use to be able to bomb the airfield after the bases which would be nice
This is true. However, fighters complained that that bombers could win the match and that they would have to climb to intercept so it basically got removed. Last i recall, there were a couple missions were you can still do it but it is like a 5-10% chance of getting them on low br mm.
Air realistic battles as a whole in itself need a rework, it should not use the new bombers’ survivability enhancement as a excuse; for years the gameplay loop on, specifically, air realistic battles has been degrading at a point that is just team deathmatch, ground targets are last case scenario to win a match by tickets and bases are easy target to whatever that is fast enough and is carrying the less amount of bombs to reach first and get higher multiplier.
This summarize air realistic battles. At some point airfields were removed completely from the gameplay loop, they only serve as shield bubble and repair zone, not as a final mission objective. But I must be fair, with the bombers’ survivability enhancement, bombers as class returning to be more popular for that reason, this is crystal clear to Gaijin that air realistic battles needs a overhaul, a more complex set of objectives to win outside destroying all enemy players’ vehicles.
Nuclear Escalation did exactly that, though you could respawn, the only way to win was to push the enemies back and destroy all their six airfields completely, something similar, in a smaller scale—if Gaijin still wants to insist in the terrible fast-paced gameplay BVV_d had mentioned on the Q&A video about the level design of maps.

Well, AI bombers now have a game mode of their own where they keep winning.
Air Assault is almost unwinnable after this update.

Strategic bombers like a lot of ships and vehicles have no real place in WarBlunders very limited narrow RNG, shot em up game play.
Their role is to destroy infrastructure, production facilities and military facilities not to go into heavily contested or enemy controller airspace to bomb a single tank , pillbox or machine gun nest, the outcome is an easy fighter kill or AAA kill (player or AI controlled).
There is no strategy, short or long term in the game, this makes it very difficult to balance such units so we see saw from one extreme to the next, it would be better to remove them from the game or have a separate mode.
This is what the community keeps blabbering but it is completely wrong
Team Deathmatch (it played more like search and destroy actually) is a perfectly fine game mode and before the update it worked. If you played with the implicit agreement that spawning in anything other than a fighter is a meme choice to feed fighters kills, the game mode worked just fine (with the exception of Airfield camping and poor BR balancing of course)
Now, bombers are so difficult and RNG to kill that it is genuinely not worth it to chase after them, and almost every game goes to the match limit. This is the dreaded 2014 meta that everyone hated, and it is objectively a massive downgrade over TDM.
Bombers and attackers want PvE, fighters (by far the majority of pilots) want PvP, you will never make everyone happy. Splitting the game modes into a PvP one and a PvE one is the obvious solution. Attempts to merge everyone into a single game mode are doomed to fail

Depends the fighter. Or attacker. Heavy fighters/attackers with several cannons or cannon pods can down bombers.

nuke thunder exists, pvpve is the way
also bombers could be better integrated into arb economically… As I suggested in recent suggestion.
That would make them better to interact with.
Just give us NE at lower tiers. below 6.7 just dont allow nukes and we good

usually. BV238 seems to be made of unobtainium rn for example
Nuke thunder is a mid gamemode with a mid implementation, and it would need significant a rework to be extended to low tiers where most bombers exist
pvpve is a bad concept pushed by pve players who are too afraid to admit they don’t want pvp
No, not really.
For 7.0-8.3 - there would be S-25 and MIM-4 for SAM sites, flak guns for airfields, small caliber aa such as zsu-57-2 and m42 for everything else. Maps 25% smaller
For 5.0-6.7 - flak sites with radars and spotlights instead of SAM sites, zsu-57-2 and m-42 for airfields, small caliber spaa for everything else. Maps 50% smaller
spotlights would be kino, honestly would be fun to use bombers

Also they can work as low rank rwr, like, a player at 11.0 knows when a SAM site detects and tracks him. But planes at low br have no rwr, what to do?
Put spotlights that will point at planes that are being tracked. This will both look authentic and show players that they are being targeted.
