My problem isnt that youre saying a 30mm has brtter Spread than a 25mm. My problem is you implying the 25mm has bad effect
It objectively is, it has no modern penetrator, and it had no programmable shells. I would also consider the m242 outdated despite the m919 shell
Im assuming its detailing the zeroing of the gun after removing the muzzle brake which appears to affect the accuracy of 3ubr8 beyond acceptable standards, apparently i also needs an increase of barrel diameter by 1mm.
If this aoplies to 3ubr8 its fair to assume it also applies to 3ubr11
Btw literally states the apt is insufficent to destroy lightly armored targets, let alone an bradleys with an armor package.
BMP-2M, or literally every other 2A42 that is still in service can use 3UBR11 dawg. You statements for the most part have been objectively false.
Never been used(the shell on bmp2m), not even produced(bmp2m incredibly low) production and the 2a42 is not modified in any way.
Prooe my statements have been false lmao, for the most part they were observations based on facts.
the shells are the outdated thing not the autocannon itself
You cant slap modern shells in a bore of the same diameter and call it a day. Same reason why there are no ahead shells for the 35mm oerlikons on gepards.
And its unlikely to ever be modernized by russia, no reason to use it over the 2a72.
You quite literally can with the Shipunov, any 30x165 rounds can be used in it. In fact, the reason you don’t have solid APDS belts, and the 5th round is a HE is because the short APDS gives it feeding trouble, but the APFSDS belt can be run in full AP because they are longer and don’t have a feeding issue.
The listed lethal area is only 6-14 sqm vs 82 for the 30mm shell. Since they are prone divide by 4. Area is thus 20.5 m^2 to (average) 10m^2
So there is an advantage by 2x in area and the advantage in fragmentation is dramatic.
u can with gepards just that you need to attach the new programmer on the tip, its a detachable module
gepard uses a 35×228mm, and the 35X228 ahead exists, just that it dosent operate it cuz they are getting replaced anyways
Spoiler
you can with any cannon. That wasnt my point. Second read the patent. Third that wouldnt work for programmable shells
The gepard already has muzzlebreaks, its not a simple modifications. The fcs needs to be modified for it.
No crap, 3UBR11 isn’t programmable, it’s a solid tungsten rod. A MODERN USED BMP-2 IN ACTIVE SERVICE CAN RUN 3UBR11 IN ITS 2A42 GUN
Read the patent. I know its not programmable i was talking modern shells in general
the muzzle breaks of the gepard arent even muzzle break they are another type of coil to help the fcs calculate the muzzle velocity of the shell to do any corrections in the path, the new coils can replace the current one, replace the FCS and connect it to add up with the new system and that way it will kill 2 birds with 1 stone, not only will it calculate the muzzle velocity but also program the ammo
No proof of it ever doing it, and the patent literally states that the cannon requires modifications for it to shoot 3ubr8 accurately. That would apply to 3ubr11 also.
I called them muzzlebreaks for convenients sake. If they were run of the mill muzzlebreaks it would be likely easier to integrate ahead. Also off topic mine was just a pin no reason to discuss ahead any further.
they arent muzzle breaks they are coils, and like i’ve said they can be replaced with AHEAD coils and they would do the same job as the old ones with the advantage of being able to program ahead now, the only reason they dont do this its cuz it would be more convenient to get a new platform to do this other than heavily modifying all the systems of the gepard to fit the new stuff
