there is no way in hell the cheaper, gas operated, higher rate of fire firing a bigger slower bullet cannon should be equal if not more accurate than the more expensive, electically operated with a slower firerate firing a smaller faster round. like what the hell, the 2a42 has no drawbacks, and the contemporary (and better) m242 cant compete in any metric.
A document(patent) i found regarding 3ubr8 out of the 2a42
(not translated yet so i dont have any idea what it actually says russians speakers would be of help)
Use the ‘change firerate’ key or in the multifunction menu to see if it’s really that accurate, most videos proofing the inaccuracy at longer ranges is made at lower firerate instead of the default firerate for long period of time, it’s only seems to be accurate, but it’s not.
If you were able to read you would know what im basing this on, (forgetting the infi ite amounts of videos proving the inaccuracy of 2a42).
Its a cheap, gas operated autocannon, if should NEVER be as accurate let alone more accurate than a electrically operated chaingun chambered in a smaller faster shell.
Sure there are other factors. They aremt nearly as important as rate of fire and general design in this case. Not to mention both apds and apfsds is faster and on m242
2a42 is a cheap gas operated design, its physically impossible for it to match the accuracy of the m242 whilst on its high rate of fire.
Hell even 2a72 isnt as accurate.
M242 is built from the ground up with accuracy in mind, every design decision supports that, from it being a chaingun, to the relatively slow rof. It should only be exceed by the other modern western autocannons(a few of which are derivatives of it).
That’s a silly take, the only reason firerate may affect the Accuracy is the barrel heating up and long term damage to the barrel, none of which have an accuracy effect in war thunder
