Nerf Scharnhorst Armor or make it 8.0

I will wait longingly for my KGV who is almost designed for war thunder, and also G3 as she would have to come before Yamato and therefore would have her moment as top-dog.

Lion will be okay with 12 16-inch guns but Yamato is gonna stomp.

Apparently this:

But they have rather poor arcs for long distance and therefore may struggle to pen after 16km.

So even better for war thunder where it’s <15Km %90 of the time.

Imagine that they add the sistership KMS Gneisenau that had already the 380mm guns as a premium

Unfortunately yes.

And take this Japan away from me, I play mikuma and myoko, and this is just the experience of mofets killing you, and you’re a heavy hover, it’s sad, I don’t like Japanese ships except for BB and two destroyers, I hope that one day nagato will appear and this drama will end or at least B-65

Same , even the 6.0/5.7 cruisers of Japan are moffet food lol, turrets that get knocked by DDs and getting ammo racked by DDs lol

Just out of curiosity, if the h-44 appeared in wt, it would probably be the biggest BB in history?

If you were going as paper as anything that isn’t H-39 then H-44 would be yes.

But H-44 would’ve been completely impossible for anyone short of the US to finish.

In actual situations, factors such as loading speed and penetrating power will have an impact, but simply comparing the total projectile mass, I am concerned that the German Navy may struggle even with the H39.

That is, only paper ships remain, because France and Italy still have nothing

H39 is pretty middle ground from out of all of those ships. People should be more concerned about Richelieu and Lion, rather than H39.

Throw weight doesn’t really matter in this game. It makes little difference if you either can’t hit your target, or you can’t even penetrate it.

Lion has a great armour layout, but what i’m worried about is the guns, they reverted to the low velocity, high arc guns after the wartime success with the 15". But this translates to only 740mm point blank with 450 at 14km, slightly higher with the supercharges and longer projectiles.

For comparison Iowa has 870mm point blank and 560 at 14km but a much shallower arc at range.

I do agree people should be more worried about Lion and Richelieu though, people seem to think of them as useless and I think they will be unpleasantly surprised.

It doesn’t. There are already Gneisenau(1942) with 283 mm guns.

NO. KGV’s gun is super heavy shell with low speed. 721 kg(Second heaviest of all 14’’ guns and first among which introduced to capitalship irl) and very slow muzzle velocity of 732 m/s. Against Scharnhorst it will have penetration superiority but against Kronshtadt it will be not that big.

If they weren’t high velocity then I got no idea how they managed to pen the thickest part of Bismarck. I’m sure there’s a technical explanation

It has a few mm more pen, than the Japanese 14" Type 91.

Like the level of Marlborough before nerfed , isn’t it?

Last battle of Bismarck vs HMS Rodney & King George V took in very close range, starting from 15 km and hits started with only from 8 km. In those range both Bismarck and King George V can penetrate each other’s thickest part with no problem

And actually Bismarck’s turtleback works well against British shells in those close range. Engines and Magazines were safe from shell shots on last battle.

I think the armor values in the screenshots are bugged, even with those absurd numbers, when you actually simulate the shot it’ll pen in a lot of cases.
