Definetly a skill issue. The only things I had sympathy for struggling against Aim-54s were things without RWRs, they’ve long since been moved out of sight of the F-14s, so if you are still getting “destroyed” by Aim-54s, then I would suggest changing your playstyle or reading up on how to defend against an ARH missile

Sure climb to 10k select target spam missles return to hangar and repeat so much skill needed.
If they are doing that, then they arent even supporting the shot, meaning its pitbulling from very long range.
If you cannot defeat an unsupported Aim-54 from long range, then I would seriously suggest changing your tactics.

You cannot succeed doing that with F14s anymore.
I never understood why folks struggle with the f14, its a slab of shit in reality, 6 x aim54 isnt even a certain kill and hasn’t been since about a month after the f14 was introduced

Yep, I had sympathy for a few, like the J35XS which didnt have an RWR at all,. Maybe also a few like the Su-17? That had virtually no CMs, but since the F-14s have long since moved out of sight of those, it is just pure skill issue now.
Only thing I have some sympathy for now is the Viggen DI which has to deal with both a poor RWR and BOL chaff or the F-104S ASA which I think has a virtually no existant RWR
Yeah, In fact, I rarely see anyone using AIm-54 in SB, not a BR bracket I play often, but most of the time, I see them getting kills with their SARH when I do, though now its just pure F-18s

The chaffe i cant comment on but the rwr i can.
If you have a four quadrant rwr you can see where rougly a fakour or pheonix is coming from, and can effectively dodge it.
The aim54s just give too much away i think unless used sly af so a 3.5km alt launch bit drop do 2k and guide them in…
As it goes usually f14s dog me but thats with either guns or sparrows so its not an aim53 thing.
Thw f18s seem to he brainless from the few games.ive had, even headbutting matra 530Fs at 10 km
The Chaff is 1/4 the strength of regular chaff, drives me nuts in everything from the Tornado F3 to the Typhoon (totally fake nerf btw)

The onle rwr i can see as an issue is the f104 which doesnt have visual, the resr give you at least a direction which if you know your rwr is a massive boon.
Even had a few 18A and 16As head butt them tbh man, the 530Fs in sim are actually where i got about half my f1 200 kills.

Yeah dont go there i had a good near 2 hour Match n lost it all at the end due to two TKs.
Both oved 12km, launced a 530 at a target that was a mig23ml but the a10c in my team shot him down, however he could have pinged in that maybe solid minute of rwr going crazy that my missile was locked to him.
i was the only mirage in the game.
Then a tornado f3 decided to try dogfight me when i said 3 times ge was firing at me.
He then proceeds to smash into me claiming it was my fault and i got a tk for it 🐑🐑😂😂im not good at sim, but i at least identify whom im gunning st
