Firstly, the 2s38 isn’t the best. The best ones are HSTV-L and RDF/LT And secondly. I don’t think autocannon only light tanks are that good.

They’re also in the auto cannon light tank category. What else do you want to compare the 2s38 to? Those two tanks are the closest to the 2s38
Begleitpanzer is closest to 2S38, the 75mm HIMAG systems are more akin to a light tank destroyer to the typical IFV layout of autocannon equipped light tanks
And it’s better than the 2s38

That puma and the 9040C are the 10.3 competitors to the 2S38, not the 11.0 Spike slingers

…except it’s as quick as the 2S38 but lacks 3rd gen thermals, a dart, a good FCS, any form of survivability, no crewless turret, no BS autoloader, etc

youre much better put to kill things frontally and virtually every other autocannon vehicle at your br. the 2s38 cannot be mid when it outperforms virtually every comparable vehicle at the same br.

2s38 and other IFV will struggle to pen MBTs from the front yes, but 2s38 is usually far more consistent at post pen damage compared to a 30 or even 40mm round when firing at a weak spot
The same thing happen on flank and rear shots. Post pen damage is not to be underestimated
Puma also does not have spikes at 10.3, but 11.0
As for HSTVL, they are as good or even somewhat better than 2s38… Except they sit 1.7 br higher

even then spikes are some of the most miserable missiles to uses against tanks, its actually surprising to do any significant damage to the crew, let alone actually destroying the tank. The spikes are so bad that id rather take my chances with a Milan than a spike, at least on the Milan its my fault that it doesn’t do damage.
