Nerf 2S38

You can, but I doubt thousands of others will follow you in that.

Where are screenshots from?

Statshark.

It should also lose HE-VT and be replaced with timed fuze HE since it never had HE-VT to begin with.

Were you flying in a straight line? The IRST does wonders for aiming with the 2S38. But if you take evasive action by slightly varying your flight path you should be fine.

Taking an evasive flight path against an invisible shell fired by a vehicle which provides zero warning, yeah easy to say, hard to do.

I think there’s a misunderstanding with regard air burst high explosive fragmentation and high explosive with proximity fuze. In this case is dated that even the old 57 mm S-60 anti-air gun was fitted with ammunitions like 3UO6, which I believe it’s an early attempt of lower caliber anti-air ammunition with proximity fuze. What I mean is: 2S38 isn’t an infantry support vehicle, nor is an infantry fighting vehicle or anti-tank gun, it’s an self-propelled anti-air gun.

2S38 being an anti-air gun dedicated to small targets from small to medium-sized unmanned air vehicle, low flying cruise missiles and helicopters, I have my doubt that it only uses or is only capable of using anti-air high explosive fragmentation ammunition with proximity fuze, if the case where to be high explosive fragmentation with timed fuze, it would essentially work as an air burst ammunition which is ahistorical, Russia and Soviet Union as a whole never developed such type of ammunition.

A report was made arguing that the 3UO8 is a fictional round and that it should be replaced with the real 3UO6 round which is a timed fuzed programmable HE shell, the devs only made up such a round because at the time, programmable AHEAD type shells weren’t implemented yet, which gave the 2S38 an artificial buff.

Exactly, it is, and always has been a naval/airdropped light SPAAG. The entire light tank designation is fictional, and made up to allow Gaijin to add it as a premium cash cow.

no argument here, it has no reason why it wouldnt be good at 11.0.

Nah, 11.0 is pushing it.

Ok then let gaijin refund everyone who bought it

Did they refund people for M735 carrying vehicles after butchering that dart?

No they didn’t, so why should there be a double standard here just because people paid for the ability to abuse an inaccurate and OP vehicle

Nerfing a shell isn’t even in the same league as outright removing it from the game.
Latter simply shouldn’t happen on premium vehicles.

When it finally goes up in br they can increase the price 🤣

2s38 is already so mid now. What do you even want to do with it? It’s only good in flanks

then taking away the dart wouldnt be a problem, because you would still have the APHE for sideshots and self defense

Not like it matters cause the 2S38 was already inferior to other SPAA of the same BR as it.

@Alpharius11348
Taking away its dart moves it down to ~9.0.

it shouldnt because it would still be as good as AA with better anti tank capabilitys than the LAV AD that is at 10.0

Still, the ahistorical HE-VT round should be replaced with HE-TF, since the former was never fielded nor existed for the 2S38. It was only added because programmable rounds weren’t implemented yet.
