! NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED ! Fix SPAA in Top Tier

Genuine question, why does this game give you the ability to choose what you lock on if it doesn’t let you do it anyway? I have ammunition disabled for my NASAMS to lock on, yet when a SU-34 flies 3km into the battlefield and launches 5 chaff, my AIM 9X completely misses or locks their missile instead?

The problem in top tier as to why CAS is so powerful is because they know where SPAA is, but we have to search for them. They have access to see our spawn through their mini map, so 99% of the time they just drop guided ordinance on our spawns; or just peep over a mountain, shoot at SPAA and dip. You have modern air-to-ground missiles launching from an aircraft that KNOWS where you are, whereas CAS can just dip behind a missile or notch our missiles. Having a AGM missile in top tier is basically free kills on SPAA if they’re overwhelmed and their SPAA likes to do whatever it likes. Especially since no one barely uses CAS.

You cant evade an AGM missile in a SPAA, as soon as they launch on you you’re cooked aside from intercepting it - however as mentioned it becomes a bad problem when overwhelmed. You cant even try to hide because a 500lb could kill you

skill issue, SPAAs are more OP than any existent CAS plane ingame nowdays.
NASAMS 3 has some of the most OP missiles for SPAA rn, if u can’t find an enemy that only has 1 site where to spawn, then skill issue from ur part.
u usually have buildings and other things to hide from enemy weaponry in case u’re “too overwhelmed” and whatever im pretty sure u won’t get too overwhelmed since u can literally kill an enemy plane at the RIGHT INSTANT it spawns since ur missiles have more range than the distance between the airspawn and the battlefield or intercept their ammunitions using TWS and just switching rapidly between each target.

this is true but only at toptier at lowtiers SPAA get rofflestomped easily

at high tiers FNF helis are biggest problem

depends the SPAA.

Mi-28NM and LMURs be like: WE’RE GOING TO KILL U!!!

LMUR missiles go crazy they one tap the most from what ive seen not that the other helis are op mind you

yak 9K can negate pretty much any SPAA

Ah64 sending 12 missile on a single buk when i am already out of ammo

the problem with SPAA at lowtier is the skill of the SPAA player, since u can pretty much one shot a plane at 1km if u have really good aim.
be the other hand, i feel things like the Gepard or AMX-30 S DCA are quite OP for 8.3 (ESPECIALLY against helicopters, my Mi-4AV can’t survive against one except i see his bullets at the right instant it shoots at me) and they face planes they should NEVER face (MiG-15bis, a subsonic aircraft, needs to face rapid-fire 35mm with a RADAR, and Mach 1 aircrafts facing IRCCM missiles without even countermesures).

Any buildings I could potentially hide behind I have a huge risk of being killed by ground players, it’s a lose-lose either way.

The issue isn’t finding aircraft, I cannot control the missile after it’s launched from my SPAA.

As I said, the issue resides around the fact CAS can easily notch missiles and or duck behind a mountain and that missile will never excel properly.

This is an issue of br compression, I agree here.

completely ignores the M247 with tracerless rounds

funny enough I kill top tier spaa as a heli player with cannons more than missiles. I think the issue is just the skill of your team. The whole point of helis is to use its ability to hover between small cracks between trees or hills to take out spaa to help out your fixed wing buddies. I only have laser guided agms rn and most tanks have LWS so all they have to do is pop smoke and move to a different spot inside the smoke and they are fine. When it comes to aircraft your radar paints the sky like a flashlight anything inside it’s range is easily picked up. A pilot has to fly against the ground to hide from that radar. So really this is kinda just a skill issue. AGMs can be evaded by getting behind cover from where the missile was fired. Sometimes you can get lucky by hiding beneath trees even if its a laser guided agm. the laser will offset the missile on the tree sometimes. Also your statement about how aircraft know where spaa is its only because you just sit at spawn. Spaa can paint the sky and detect aircraft a lot easier than pilot’s eyes.

I use the sep v2 and I get no LWS for missiles fired against me, and I have the absolute worst time killing helis in my NASAMS as they launch missiles fire and forget and then duck behind their mountain or spawn.

Pretty much.

I lick my lips when I see a Yak trying to doof doof with the APHE shell. They have to dive on the team to do so making them easy pickings. Not even a lack of skill of SPAA at lower BRs, it’s simply a refusal of many to even bring or use SPAA to begin with. I shake my head when I see a Tiger player get CAS’d and then they just spawn another Tiger instead of bringing some SPAA.

Nah. Planes can outrange most spaa, regardless. And spaa at low-tier are vulnerable to heavy machine guns as well.

Even up to 7.7, gunned spaa like the Veak 40 get outranged by AGTMs

With which spaa do you have a postive air-kill-to-death ratio?

so it’s unfair that they can notch or hide behind a mountain when u have superior A2A missiles?

u literally have buildings in most spawns, u don’t even need to leave ur spawn…

yeah but that one has slow shells which are way way easier to dodge in a low-maneuverable helicopter like the Mi-4AV, and it’s usually rare to see it since most people just bring SPAA to use them as TD not SPAA, and since it only uses HE belts, it’s useless.

Got that backwards. SPAA is free to hide where ever on the map, but CAS is in radar view from the moment it spawns, and always spawns in the exact same place.

"NASAMS 3 ‘instant kill’ claim: BUSTED

myth: missile spawns on target Reality: 3.5km+ travel time at Mach 3 = 3+ seconds of “please don’t multipath or notch”

Myth: ‘More range than airspawn to battlefield’ Reality: You mean the 15km on a good day vs 15-25km spawns? Math is hard.

ill say tho it depends on the maps, some maps have kept a weirdly low distance spawnpoint, but some others dont, and its not like if it wasnt multipatheable or anything
