NDI (Norway, Denmark, Iceland)- Ground Forces Techtree (Updated 222x vehicles!)

Hard choice between giving this an independent tree or 150+ unique vehicles to Sweden.

Regardless, +1, hope to see it soon

Are you still in need of more photos regarding this vehicle?

Yes, i haven’t managed to find either more images or information about it, cant find it anywhere, not even on some forums/archives

It’s a combination used not too long ago, its a demonstrator vehicle/prototype, in relation to the peogram to wither upgrade or replace the old cv90’s

You did see the compliation of photos on Army Guide though right? Low quality, same shooting location as the first photo.

Well, since you didn’t respond to my other question I’ll just drop what I have now. Most of this is courtesy of a source some guy on Discord sent to me so credit to him

While I don’t have much in the way of actual information, this official Kongsberg chart seems to suggest that two prototypes were built, one in 2009 and another in 2012.

2009 Prototype?

2012 Prototype?

Also, while I have your attention, I have two other vehicles you may not know about:

Piranha II 8x8 with Protector RS6 armed with an M230LF 30mm and two Piorun anti-aircraft missiles. It was apparently a collaboration between Kongsberg and Polish company Mesko in 2024.

Danish halftrack with Madsen 20mm. The image looks like a drawing, but there are many other images in this text that are real photos, so I suspect this one is as well.

i have been very busy, so i haven’t had time to respond :)

yes, it is valid for both nations

that’s some awesome images, haven’t seen those before, i’ll do some research, i have some places i can ask if someone knows anything. that 2009 one is probably Kongsberg testing their turrets at their shooting range, as they only started making medium caliber turrets in 2009, they only did weapon stations before 2009

i don’t think the picture/drawing is a Danish vehicle, could be just an illustration or a vehicle from another nation, the closest danish vehicle to this is the ford model aa with a madsen 20mm cannon, at first i tought this was a Triangel L 3.5 halftrack wich probably is the vehicle in the image, but proved itself to be a ford model aa. there are definelty some variants that haven’t been found

Understandable, I figured I’d give a day or so just in case

Considering the source is a Russian text from 1934, the chance for error is quite possible. Worth a mention regardless.

it’s quite interesting, and that truck in the image is a Triangel

Unsure wich nations used it tough

I just wanted to post a link to my topic where I found some documentation about all armoured vehicles used by Denmark before 1945. There are a few links to some PDF documents, so I won’t make the same post again on your topic, because it would be a bit redundant. So, here it is, hope this helps you:

I actually started looking into it a couple days ago xd, i’ve been working on an update of the tree and some vehicles from the same time/era (Pz3’s and such)

It was brought to Norway by the Germans in ww2, and was driven around the country as some sort of propaganda message, i don’t remember exactly where it was. And then the Norwegian Army after the occupation ended, took it along with a lot of the different equipment they left behind

From what i read in a book at the tile i added it, i got the impression that they did use it/test it for a short period, but i am uncertain about this, but it was used by Raufoss ammunition factory (Which is Nammo today) for testing the 76mm ammunition at least

I’ll see what i find, and i will remove it if it doesn’t qualify

I think they have kept it at the museum in Oslo

Thank you for the fast response, i thought i would be waiting for months to get an answer xd. But i have a few questions about this T34/76, first off did the T34/76 gets modified by the Norwegian after they took it?
Was there any information on how many T34’s the Norwegian took after the occupation ended?

If you could answer this question, i would appreciate it alot!

Also, I am really sorry for deleting the previous comment before this, Since i wasn’t finish with writing my comment. I am actually intrested in norwegian military history and history, and wanted to know more about it especially with this T34/76. Again, thank you for answering to my first question earlier!

It was just that one T34/76. The Germans transported it to Norway in 1943, where it was used as a part of German propaganda, and displayed as captured Soviet material. After the war the t34 was used at the Raufoss ammunition factories for testing ammunition.

It’s not modified by Norway, but it could have the German modification, 747(r). Like for example the Hotchkiss H.35 that the Germans had captured from the French, and modified, and ended up in Norway

i’ll see what i can find, doubt there will be much tough, just information etc about the captured PZ.III and Stug III’s that was captured and used until the 50’s to mis 50’s are still classified, classified for 80 years lol

Found an image of it

And another, around 2010 i think

Displayed at Rena leir, and it’s apparently an T34/85

UPDATE

I won’t give up the idea of a new independent Norwegian/Danish techtree, and thus i will still update the NDI techtrees. After extensive work and research, i have managed to find and identify a lot of new vehicles, which of many are unique! I have made a bullet point of each vehicles i have added, and i have been working on making separate suggestion for each of them just to have all information possible available for each vehicle.

I have also done some rework of the tree, i have removed vehicles that woudn’t be really suitable in the game in it’s current state, such as the Danish anti air vehicles armed with a single 8mm madsen magazine fed machinegun, and replaced this with two different “technical” anti air trucks from April 1940 in Norway. I have also done some renamings; Strv - Stridsvogn (Tank), Stkn - Stormkanon (Self Propelled howitzer) to make it easier to read and avoid comfusion.

Haha, Going to add some More Danish vehicles to it, there are still a decent bit of Danish vehicles to find still, not to mention them doing some heavy investing in their army, with lots of vehicles and other systems to be delivered and entering service around 2026-2030

The biggest issues are sources, i do for example have a large access to Norwegian Sources (National library with thousands of scanned material) but mostly needs a Norwegian ip and to see certain stuff you need to send an application using national id. I did some extensive searching on the archive which most of the vehicles i just added was discovered on (Don’t know if Denmark has a similar system, other than arkiv.dk | Portal to your history of Denmark). Are for example footage that would reveal several Danish armored car variants pre ww2
