What if thay introduce NAVI battles in Air sim, thay culdnt join all of the maps, but like Danish might be good for them. Imagin haveing players playing ships in air sim mach. It would bring much more in the game, new missens and new players. Truth is that thay would have to fight bots, thay could also capture zones. It would make game more active.
First of all there needs to be ‘sim’ naval; adding ships in their current state would just be allowing AB/AB+ in sim to an even greater extent than 3PV, stabilised, hive-mind gunners on bombers already allows it.
Coastal vessels (and submarines) might work if:
- Gaijin could shift the default view point to the captain’s position, which in most cases would still be an external view, just one tied to the deck, conning tower, helm as required.
- The player controlled guns by actually being placed behind the gun in question and aimed through the ring sight or whatever.
But none of that will ever happen.

I was talking about smaller coastal vessels. Where the ship has entire batteries spread across multiple turrets the rangefinder would be more appropriate. However, point-and-click control of a BB’s entire AA armament wouldn’t be very ‘sim’ and that matters because player aircraft are sim; for ship v ship combat the arcade nature of WT naval gunnery would at least be balanced even if not ‘sim.’
Naval SIM would be a TK frenzy, would be worse than low rank german teams in SIM

Crew ‘surface spotting’ skill could be used for ID feature/assist.
AA armament shouldnt even be controlled by the player

Exactly. I’d prefer AA to be left to the AI in any sim setting.
I think you could add them with their current views but remove markers from 3rd person views - so you need to use the gunner’s view to target ships - and disable targeting of airplanes - that would prevent TKs.
Also, the ship should just be added as objectives. I.E. instead of joining for the full EC battle, the ships have to carry out some sea based objective (and once done, their game ends, but the EC goes on).
Of course, they’d need to get ships working properly in Naval EC first. It’s been a while, but last time I tried Naval EC ships still didn’t ‘RTB’ properly at a port like aircraft do at the airfield. Ships don’t properly repair, they don’t replace lost crew and re-arming used to take forever (that one may have improved a bit); the only way to respawn your current ship or to take an alternative was to blow up your current ship for a totally fresh spawn. Yea, very ‘realistic,’ very ‘immersive.’
From day 1 of WT aircraft could totally repair, rearm, refuel at the airfield. Why they didn’t consider the same for ships returning to port when they created a naval mode focussing on extended gameplay is bewildering. Maybe they’ve fixed it by now… though I’d bet my entire stock of GEs on nothing being changed.
