Asking the naval community about the best naval trees to start grinding, as well as any tips on how to play naval well as a top tier air and ground player
Italy for gun, Germany and Russia for armour and uk for all rounders
So is uk the easiest to play? Or what would you say is the easiest to get adjusted to and also has a pretty good top tier
uk is the easiest but it has nothing much that stands out but you won’t suffer either so go for that if you new and maybe Germany if you get bored
what about japan and usa? Isnt the yamato the strongest battleship irl?
in game it’s good but the rest of the tree is ehhh
It was extremely powerful IRL, one of the most powerful in WW2, post WW2 a lot of USAs BBs where armed with nuclear shells though, that would make them more powerful than any ship without them.
However in game Yamato is complete trash.
Iowa seems decent in game, but the Shitsky Soybean just rolls over everything else in the game, there isn’t really anything that can compete with it.
Oh you poor innocent soul.
But if you’re looking for a good beginner tree, US/Britain/Russia would be a good start.
The US having fun early game ships. Russia has good battleships. Britain is fairly consistent all the way through.
I would recommend you don’t look for what’s best but what peaks your interest the most. Naval meta can shift quite violently update from update.
Don’t be afraid to practice stuff in custom battles/test drive and ask around when stumbling upon difficulties. There are plenty of mechanics in naval which are poorly or just not explained.
do top brs matter a lot? I noticed vanguard is only 8.3 so its worse then the russian top tier thats at 8.7 right?
Shitsky Soybean is what? Sovietsky Soyuz?
So russia is a good brawler battleships, US is firepower britain is a mix?
It does, the 8.7’s are a grade above the 8.3’s for a reason.
But in all honesty, I avoid 7.7+ as much as possible.
I wouldn’t consider battleships as brawlers on general, especially the higher up you go (thanks to the conquest gamemode)
But I would say that russia has good firepower specializing in SAP shells
The US have very good AP on their battleships but poor reload on their 6.7’s -7.7’s. and good armour but glaring weakspots.
Britain has very tanky battleships but are a little lacking in firepower at times
Why ? Is it boring? Problem with naval is that there are basically no good top tier youtube videos since not a lot of people play it
It’s quite stale, and the 8.7’s rule the roost with an iron fist. Sovetsky Soyuz especially with its excellent protection and firepower.
Battleship gameplay os also generally a lot slower than earlier BR’s
oh yeah, one more question is there a time where HE shells are good or should i always use SAP or AP
One last question, is the naval grind slow and is it benefitial to ever get a premium bb to hasten the grind?
On battleships? I always use AP. HE is uselesd against heavy armour. SAP can have its usecases but I prefer not having to think and just taking the higher penning AP.
Yeah, I can’t remember it’s real name and I already use nicknames for a lot of Russian ships for some reason.
Tashkent is Trashcan
Smelyi is Smelly
Kransny Kavkaz is Cranky (inappropriate word)
Spokoinyy is Spooky
Ryany is Rainy
and so on
If you’re new to naval, I strongly advise against buying a premium battleship. I got far enough with just premium time.
A premium battleship is also a big “investment” for something you might not like. I would say to only consider a premium BB if you’ve gotten a tech tree battleship and you know what the gameplay is like.
