they only people saying THIS, are people who haven’t played Naval Arcade OR Realistic. There isn’t a point and click mode anywhere else in War Thunder. How do you think the Tankers would respond if they made Tank Arcade point and click. If you don’t like it YOU go play War Thunder Mobile. The rest of us are happy with Arcade Naval as it was. We’ll pull out our phones if we’re tired of skilled play.
Ok, so I should go play realistic where the fun aspect of planes does not exist. That makes sense.
Well you have to because it does not exist in AB now either.
Ok, swell. We have a great situation here to deal with.
By the way, why so much effort into AB redesign WHEN THERE IS SUCH MASSIVE BATTLEPASS TASK PROBLEMS WITH NAVAL.
How do you get 9+ kills with a Strike aircraft for example? How do you get a plane kill in a kill boat, plane, and cap in one win task?
That’s not how it works. You have to consider angles etc.
I’ve played a fair bit of naval and I’m saying it
it is point and click. just point at the green indicator. no need to learn anything after that
I guess you haven’t played Tank Arcade either. Green don’t mean pen. Red don’t mean miss. And you absolutely can choose how to aim. With just shy of 22,000 Arcade Naval Battles, and over 16,600 Arcade Tank battles, I have a bit of experience. Tankers wouldn’t put up with the aim botting they’ve done to Arcade Naval. It’s criminal, and clearly people don’t like it.
When i moved over to WT from WOT two years ago I played a lot of arcade for the first few months before going to RB because arcade holds the players hands far too much.
it literally does
no it means non pen. there’s no indicator when you’re not on target
then play the non arcade mode. as the change to accommodate the acrade styling clearly isn’t your thing
Lol. If you’ve never bounced on Green, and you’ve never penned on Red, then you haven’t played that much Arcade Tanks. The point is, Arcade Tanks uses indicators to GUIDE you. You still have agency in the shot. Its still YOU aiming. That’s why you can get “Sniper” firing beyond those guides. You’re learning how to shoot and you’re getting better. You’re training for Realistic.
They’ve ripped that agency away from us by installing aim bots in our Arcade Naval. They’ve removed our ability to use our experience and skills. Instead, forcing us to rely on a system that does it for us. Without us know how, or why, or where our guns are even pointing.
its not that deep just play NRB its basically the same thing. actually realistic is precicley what I anticipated naval acrade to be at first
Again, all I ask is a dev come by and say this instead of making ME ARGUE WITH MFING KWEEBDO FOR A WEEK ABOUT NONSENSE
i played a good 500+ arcade matches and never really had any issues getting shots going as indicated. the guides were usually perfect to pen anything without much thought.
that’s just the purpose of realistic mode
Same here - but that IS more than there used to be - I would often be as low as 1 per side previously, but I haven’t seen that yet.
Green means it will pen under the right conditions (angle, distance), but even this can be deceptive in some cases like the KV1 can completely block shots regardless in green.
And you can aim from across the map at Red and still pen/kill.
Also you still have to learn ammo and know solid shot will do nothing to Green on many AA vehicles for example. Or crew locations in vehicles.
It’s not point and click and RNG crew damage for participation trophy.
Ok, well, I have 16,651 completed Arcade tank battles. Take it from me. I actually think about what’s going on instead of clicking at the green markers. It comes from playing a ton of Realistic Tanks.
Realistic Mode is for people who are ready to dig in for a bit more challenge. A bit more anticipation. A bit more skill. They take what they’ve learned in Arcade, and they build upon the foundations formed there.
Arcade Naval is not providing that foundation.
I like Arcade because it’s faster. Quicker. A bit more casual.
Not because it a Clicker Auto-battler. lol. If I didn’t want to think at all, I’d be playing World of Warships.
And you absolutely can choose how to aim.
Same as NAB then
It’s criminal,
Stupid hyperbole
and clearly people don’t like it.
SOME people don’t like it, many even.
and SOME people do.
Kind of like everything else that exists really.
Realistic Mode is for people who are ready to dig in for a bit more challenge. A bit more anticipation. A bit more skill. They take what they’ve learned in Arcade, and they build upon the foundations formed there.
Realistic is for people who like that game mode, regardless of how many other game modes they have played.
You do not get everyone having to be what you would like them to be.
So we should think the devs did a separation of wheat from chaff with this patch to get smart players that need more engagement to step up to RB while the dumb dumbs (their words not mine) get to participate for lottery points in AB

ok so go play realistic mode. you’ve got the experience. thousands of matches worth even.
Arcade Naval is not providing that foundation.
teaches the controls and basic fundamentals. realistic naval tells you where to lead your shot so that’s over there.
I like Arcade because it’s faster. Quicker. A bit more casual.
so play realistic coastal. its exactly that.
Bro, some of us bought premiums.
I have no experience in RB. I remember asking what was an efficient way to farm event points in Air, and someone said bomb in Sim, so I tried it and learned I needed control key for opening bomb bay doors. Missed the drop. Tried to fly downward, overheated engines from improper oil flow. Like wtf I just want to hop in and play some fast pace stuff.
so play realistic coastal. its exactly that.
I have. 2,413 naval realistic matches. It is not “exactly” that. …it’s slow. It’s great for gun boats, not great for torps. It’s horrible for barges or corvettes. It’s not where you want to grind your slower floats.
Which is why we play arcade.
I have no experience in RB
its basically what arcade was. you get given lead indicators and everything.

that’s on the guy that told u that without proper warning. realistic modes are not close to sim in their gameplay at all
Alright man well maybe. I already setup some lineups, but I’ve been too demoralized.
its basically what arcade was. you get given lead indicators and everything.
@OwenHartEntrance Nah. There was a lot less info in Realistic Aiming. The leads updated way slower. You had to gauge distance much more on your own. Old arcade aiming helped you out. You had to track your own rounds. No Green Tracers. It was a step up from Arcade Aiming without being completely alien to it.
Now… you don’t even aim in Arcade. You just click. …there’s no aiming for where they’ll be because you don’t even know where your guns are pointing. It’s broken now.
