what a shame, like we’re not used to getting by with buggy and incomplete stuff at this point :)
It would have been nice to see how it worked on Golden Bay around the ships, would also be great to have something like this for air to ground rockets

It was stated as not being a bug and I’ve received a 3 day vacation complaining about it in the past.
Classic.
The automatic repair that happens when automatic repairs are turned off is not a bug.
And it only happens on first spawn.
And because you try helping them to fix this stuff in your free time (a job they should be able to do without any help since, yk, they are game developers and not me) you get silenced? Now if thats not a great incentive to help a little more.
I had to cancel this trash mechanic while playing Bismarck in naval ec two times last weekend when one of my barbettes was set on fire. In manual damage control. Fire is on auto. But oh there was also a hole in the hull a couple of meters above the waterline increasing fire extinguish to more than 20 seconds with experted crew. instantly cancel hull repair obviously, fire extinguish goes down to around 10 sec. But ofc that garbage starts itself a second time. Half the gamemodes have to feel more like fighting crappy implementations of this and that instead of actually playing. But obviously when lots of stuff is as annoying as possible you basically know its working as intended and not a malfunction of some crappy code.
ToS violation; specifically the one that says ‘you can’t argue with the devs’ decisions’.
I hate it as much as the next person but I’m probably on thin ice as it is with the forum mods.
It happens on other spawns.
I tried first spawning a reserve destroyer to J out of. My second spawn would still get it.
I haven’t had it on my second ship.
Now that I have to reinstall warthunder because it keeps crashing on startup.
I have no clue what causes it to happen at this point. Sometimes i get a match and never have it pop up, other times it pops up the second anything larger than like 45mm touches my cruiser.
I mean well, if you broke the TOS thats another thing
Still im glad its just an annoying af and pointless “mechanic” and not a bug. Phew man. If it was a bug that hull repairs continously restart itself several times because you get 1 or 2 % of water intake from holes above the waterline, blowing the ship up by making it so barbette fires take twice as long to extinguish which can be fatal especiall in Bismarck, Scharn and Gneisenau then that would be a bad thing…(whyever thats the case, im sure firefighting crews are the same crew that are also fixing the hull mid fight, they r just the dumb guys responsible for everything), but anyways if that was a bug and not intentional that’d be really bad, because we all know, theres almost no bugs in this game.
Probably the completely broken aiming in arcade DURING a naval event is also intentional. And falling through the map in ground RB
Still yet to actually see this vulnerability in the game. I see people complaining about it all the time but then pummel these same ships in the barbettes with 14"/50 and 41cm/45 battleship AP and they shrug it off with near instant fire extinguishing, or sail around for 20 to 25s with no consequences. Meanwhile the ships that actually burn down super fast in my experience are the US standards, especially Tennessee. Have had it explode from a hit to the turret that caught fire and spread down the barbette to the magazine in three seconds. The longest distance possible for a fire to cross and it zoomed down instantly.
I aim where people say it works reliably and get results on 1 in 15 ships. So unreliable I don’t even bother shooting German battleships anymore unless I have multiple friendly ships with me focusing fire.
If you’re using IJN ships, the 41cm number 3 shells are garbage. Number 5 are borderline doomsday devices against most opposing ships.
Haven’t really gotten consistent performance with 41cm/45 guns using No.5 rounds to destroy turtleback german battleships
They wreck almost everything the Tosa/Amagi can fight except for 8.7 BR ships at distance and troll me against shinyhorse/her sister/bismarck by doing nothing
I highly doubt they fixed the elevator fire issue with the Scharnhorsts and Bismarck but I haven’t really played 7.3~8.3 in a decent while.
Happen to have any video of you firing at 'em by chance?
If i can find a cooperative target or user mission that lets me just sit there and blast one i will make a video later
Good thing I got both. Germany was the first nation I did when Leviathans dropped lol.
I have a video of what happened when I shot at a user mission target bismarck/shinyhorse+sister. I can only assume the shots that actually killed them were insane one in a million anomalies, because 99% of the time when I shoot one of those ships in game they just sit there and have fires that go out in ~15 seconds. I aim at the same exact place in normal games and never get those results.
Turret 2 and 3 for Bismarck is the easier option than turret 1, for future reference. Most shells will get eaten by the turret and tends to be a gamble.
Turret 2 for Scharnhorst and Gneisenau are also the easier options.
Since you’re also at sub 6~8km, you also have to contend with (watching the vid as I post), you have to contend with shallow angles against the turtleback plates.
I did it again with the Tennessee at 13 to 10 km and results remained poor
German battleship armor is just inconsistent for me, I rarely experience the “instant ammo burned down” that is complained about on the forum
Tennessee actually in particular has been exploding quickly from barbette fires for me, at least six times in one match my turrets had been shot, lit on fire and instantly exploded (mercifully nonlethal explosions)
American dreadnoughts in general need a 10 second reload buff minimum. Elevator fires screw them almost as hard as the Scharnhorsts and Bismarck.
As for why it’s non-lethally exploding, it’s due to the shellrooms just below the barbettes getting nuked.
