You can test sail premiums without buying 'em, luckily.
Even if unrealistic in some guns and big ships it’s good to have
Sorry what??? what they mean large munitions?
seems that not only the nonsense of hitting bombs in-flight but also hitting grenades in-air is possible???
Whats next - intercepting torpedoes and hey… its arcade… in the future torps may tunnel through islands???
I would suggest trying RB, it is not that much different than AB. You might get used to it in no time (might feel strange at first) I think its worth it to have atleast some enjoyment from naval again.
Always has been.
After playing coastal boats between BR 1.0 and 4.3, I have come to the conclusion that all rapid-firing guns in Naval, especially in Arcade Battles, are broken and heavily affected by ghost shells. Guns ranging from 12.7 mm to 40 mm are far more likely to ghost-shell than larger-caliber guns. Meanwhile, guns of 75 mm and above still reliably register hits whenever the shells visibly strike a boat.
Try playing a boat equipped with 40 mm Bofors guns in several matches, and you’ll likely experience the same issue.
I was digging into the history of datamines and found this. I believe this is what you were referring to?
Seriously, this still persists.
What the heck is going on? Ghost-shelled a bot and an actual player, and all shots from my 40mm Bofors failed to register hits within thirty seconds.
I am getting fed up with the coastal battles because of this.
are the Russians boats affected by this? ;-p
Naval its boring, only interesting are submarines, and modern ships with ASM and aircraft carriers.
Most Soviet armored boats with 75mm guns aren’t affected, except for their secondary guns, such as 12.7mm and 37mm autocannons. Anything with rapid-firing guns is affected by this.

I’m having a good time
Yea I guessed the problem is with the rapid fire weapons, just kidding about the non existant Russian bias.
If you have it happen again, try letting go of the left mouse, and then clicking again to see if it picks up the release and the fresh press.
Tested that in LCS(L)(3) and ghost-shelled against a player-controlled MZ1. I let go of the LMB for like 1-2 seconds before clicking it again, and it still ghost-shelled the MZ1.
I’ll repeat it on other ships against enemies and see what happens :/
My favorite is watching 20.3cm sap hit a fletcher at 8km and doing zero damage somehow because shrapnel belt decided it wanted to absorb it.
Decided to walk the talk; I opened a bug report to address the ghost shells.

Please support this bug report if you experience the same issue and spread the word with your circle.
Found a new bug; spotter plane being unable to be launched. Seems to happen at complete random. I don’t know if this is just an issue with HMS York or other ships but it seems to happen after it ‘reloads’.
Could that be related to the torpedo firing bug? Ship takes damage, ship repairs damage, now ship cannot launch torpedoes be it full launchers or the last fiah.
Seems every critical aspect of the mode is breaking yet nothing is done.
Yeah, that torpedo bug got me killed in a match earlier because I didn’t realize I had the bug.
I’ve seen this quite a lot, also for 2 plane ships it’s very common not to be able to launch the 2nd (classic Gaijin lack of testing)
Disabling the catapult, scope, fire a couple of salvos, descope, enable scout - usually works but I have no idea if it’s just kicking a rock to make rain :)
