Naval mode is finally dead

Yeah, I honestly miss the old naval AA AI. Now if you’re stuck in a WW1 boat with garbage for AA, you just die instead of allied AA fire actually meaning anything…

CAS deserves to suffer in naval for their infractions in GRB.

Bro it was hilarious to see the 88cm AA gunners in a WW1 dreadnought swat a Tu-2 or Pe-8 out of the sky at nearly 9km

You should upload it to WT live as a user skin bro. I’d download it in a heartbeat and I’m still at coastal 1.7 with Japan. It might even get selected by Gaijin to become a marketplace skin, I wouldn’t be surprised given how beautiful it is.

I am not willing to enter WT live. Its scary place with too much degenerade stuff…

It’s also a place full of great historical and semi-historical camos and great fictional user content, like your skin. You can ignore the stuff you don’t like and focus on the stuff you do like. Whenever I start spading a new lineup I always look for historical or semi-historical skins for the vehicles I’m about to experience for the first time. Bit of a personal ritual :)

Even better my experience of flying a F3D-1 at near vne speeds & getting pilot sniped by an 8.8 cm cannon off a Kaiserliche Marine dreadnought, naval AI’s are cracked for AA although it seems also for ships as of late last year.

Funniest part of that event was an F6F-5 following behind me didn’t get blapped & bombed said dreadnought & flew off.

why is it that 6.0 light cruisers with shells that can barely even penetrate other light cruisers can face ridiculously armored and armed dreadnoughts and battleships

doesnt even have to be in uptiers but the germans have battleships with like 300mm of citadel and turret armor at 6.0

thats in the same tier as many other CLs and CAs that can do pretty much nothing against them

The Nassaus (Nassau and Westfalen) are in the odd spot of being so well armored they can even tank some 7.0s but their shells are so laughably bad that they have to practically be on top of enemy battleships for the AP to start doing any sort of damage.

The SAP is mostly serviceable but it starts losing any and all effectiveness against armored targets. The AP can get cheeky ammunition snipes on more armored cruisers like the Hippers but they’re just as likely to bounce or do nothing.

They’re also painfully slow and lack any sort of real AA, although the 88s can sometimes oneshot aircraft.

The Nassaus should be 6.3 minimum, though.

you got the part of them being incredibly well armored right but the thing is though, these things are 6.0, and like 70% of ships at that BR are heavy or light cruisers with less pen than the Nassaus, and these things have better armor than higher tier battleships…

Again, the shells are laughably bad but I am in agreement that they deserve a br bump.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the dreadnoughts get a bump before Atlanta, SKR-7, Gangut, Porters, and Pr. 206s

Yes, I’ve seen this quite a bit too

Also for ships I think that where hits are shown on the damage display for the enemy vessel is different to where you see the explosions.

There was something in a changelog about shots not landing where it looked like they should, IMO problems started with this change.

Minor testing: with 1/3rd ammo, Richelieu class - like the Dunkerques - removes yhe top half of the magazine. However, there’s a set of tertiary ammo between turrets 1 and 2 on the same layer as the upper half of the magazines.

More minor testing allows 424 rounds (1 salvo above 50% total ammo) before upper magazines appear
