Naval mode is finally dead

Mid Tier is 5.3 to 6.3.

Which luckily isn’t always battleships.

Man that new “nuclear sun”

god this is awful, thats even worse than getting snowblind on winter maps

I mean thats how it looks like irl quite a lot i would guess in clear weather with the sea surface acting like a giant inverted parabol mirror.
Anyhow likewise to really foggy conditions and storm, which is nice to have in game from time to time and nice that the game can look really realistic, if it isnt exactly good for gameplay or favors one side of the map heavily those occurences should be rare and not the norm in ground/air or naval rb.
As because it looks really nice and not every match looks the same weather condition wise (gameplay is already repetitive enough) i would be happy if these can stay in game, i just dont understand why its always full force for gaijin or nothing. Either every 2nd ground rb map has closed cloud cover at 500 m alt or theres no matches with these. Either 60% of matches are night battles for 2 or 3 days or you wont see a single night battle for weeks. Is it really that complicated to make matches like the lower “nuclear sun” sceenshot only happen every 10 or 20 matches and the majority of matches played with good or normal visibility and normal amounts of clouds?

Still less oppressive than Battlefield 3’s sun but it comes close

Problem that at current state of game there is no such blinding sun, but after patch there will be. (we already had nuclear sun some time ago in ground battles and it was awful experience)

feel the difference in picture for the same altitude of the sun(i personally prefer old variant), besides that looking into simple binocular IRL doesn’t increase brightness and won’t add haze filter above that, what makes picture even more pale(while IRL we have plenty colorful places everywhere, especially if sun is up and sky is clear, except the most depressing ones).

old

new

hmm well yeah on these pictures it looks quite overtuned and somehow worse on the new version. The aerial view i somehow really liked a lot because it looks quite realistic. Not very pleasant for the eyes thats true and not good for gameplay, thats why i think these should be quite rare conditions but would be a shame if they would make it look less realistic or not have these conditions at all. The view from the ship tho looks less realistic and just annoying to stare into a bright white screen.

Option for polarized lenses in rangefinders, naval binos and sunglasses option to turn on with keybind would be cool af for stuff like this. And would add immersion

I think the perfect result would be a mix of old + new.

Basically; new, but slightly toned down; the effect itself is otherwise extraordinary! Just a little bit too intense.

Option to toggle sunglasses while in a plane or even for ships looking through rangefinders. should be a rather simple graphical overlay to implement while keeping the graphical fidelity that would be a tad bit to bright to continuosly stare into in a naval match if all enemies are right in front of the sun.

I mean look at how happy that dude looks like in the thumbnail. Just because of his sunglasses im sure. Could be u

Years ago the nuclear sun effect was even more pronounced in Naval, sometimes to the point where the presence of enemy ships could only be ascertained by the brackets around them when targeted, as the ships themselves weren’t visible at all.

I really REALLY wish they’d rework costal spawns so they’re relevant to the lineup properly and also adress the BR bs going on too, it’s way too compressed at higher end of the tiers.

The amount of times I’ve spawned a pure coastal lineup recently to be greeted by a massive encounter map with no objectives but to kill the enemy destroyers and cruisers is absurd.
There really should be a way to stop that nonsese happening, like put in an algorithm that checks if you’ve a bluewater in your lineup at all and if not then don’t match make to stupid massive maps with no realistic way for a coastal to do anything of note but be food

tier IV modification ))

I dunno what’s up but it seems recentish (past few months). I think they changed scattering.

This is the most ridiculous examples I had (air but same system):

I’d really wish PT players didn’t have so much control over the damn map in bluewater.

Some maps it’s borderline impossible to get to flags with any sort of speed if there’s a swarm of PT boats.

Coastal only mode would help a lot in that regard, or have a coastal spawn and a couple way too far from that one to be feasible for coastal to cap if there’s bluewater in the game too

most maps allow the bluewater to target directly the coastal spawn so coastals have no chance at all to reach any cover - this was no issue until the aimbot update and the up-leveling of the gunner view

Not really on most maps I’d say, yes they can reach that far but being able to target is another thing and a lot of the maps do give obstacles in the way to at least first spawn from bluewater to make it much harder to target from the off
Lower tier maps is another thing granted but they’re in the man just mental fire as much as you can before you win/lose/are dead lots matches that are fun for a couple but that’s it

naval rp also is pretty bad for how long you spend in a match its impossible to grind without a prem

Coastal boats have such ridiculous evasive ability that the average coastal usually won’t get hit ever unless it’s by a bot.

Heres a small Heads up for the people that look into this Thread once in a while it seems there might be a potentially Mission Score bug for the USS Oklahoma Coupon. Ive created a bug report for it if any of you have also noticed any issues would be great if u could answer on it or something Community Bug Reporting System
