Naval mode is finally dead

Not sure about Cruisers and all that but it barely happens for battleships aside from the earlier mentioned ones. I do wish there was a bit more utilisation of it though. Like for example it always counting down once u hit like idk below 20% buoyancy on any ship no matter the listing.

I’d argue extreme listing threshold should be decreased for some ships while increased for others but I’d need to hardcore test and research which ones match up and which don’t to historical documentation.

Yamatos definitely aren’t but it will almost never happen to begin with because front magazine being a fire bomb regardless of ammo

Really hope this means better balance across nations in low tier, hopefully with 3 ships available to everyone at every BR.

Alternatively what’s the odds US 5.0 and Russia 4.3 will be loaded even more? Or more 5.3 DDs that dominated the previous updates?

gaijin should rush to modern naval if they want to save naval mode from being dead forever. They added all these cool modern jets with anti ship missiles and already implemented a SPAA radar screen. We just need modern naval ships to get people interested in the naval grind again. Adding more WW2 destroyers is just gonna please like 5 people who know of an obscure ship.

The bug actually started from spearhead when they introduced the new auto damage control.

The maps, except in EC, don’t even cover the minimum distance required to fire an anti-ship missile. (
Maybe it’s true, but you know what I mean.)

And overall the gameplay would be: spawn > fire all your anti-ship missiles > die > repeat

With larger maps, it can work, and more islands and cover. Add chaff for ships and more defense and it will be more fun. Alot better than no one grinding naval because soyuz is destroying everyone and WWII destroyers shooting at each other till someone blows up. Look at how Sea Power shows modern naval combat. If war thunder can achieve that level, it will be amazing. This is their last chance for naval. They screwed up with Yamato and bismark, they have one more time to get everyone back on Naval this year. That’s WWII submarines or cold war ships. At least give players a future to look towards. For me it seems like they just add more and more WWII ships not alot of people hear about and won’t want to get.

Ah yes, with other maps, I’ll see. But I think you’re asking too much there; I’ve rarely seen someone lazier than Gaijin for a game of this scale

I know, which is why I find myself struggling to press play on naval arcade/realistic. Like I got to put two hands on my mouse. I don’t know how a game company can mess up the arrival of two of the most famous ships everyone knows about but I guess its possible with enough incompetence.

Sea Power for the most part has very slow gameplay, wt players already complain about naval being too slow for them and modern naval engagement will be even slower. I don’t think it will retain a sizeable player base in the long-run after the craze does out.

Furthermore, with the arrival of Trump’s ships (and his Trump-class vessels) and the Chinese naval presence, the current navies are reaching a historic juncture.

Many are at a point where they must modernize their fleets and will have to choose between massive ships like China or the US, or a fleet with smaller but more numerous vessels like France’s.

A ton of incredible new equipment is coming out and/or has already been released, and they could capitalize on it immensely.

Sea power had a slow gameplay but Everything in the water is pretty slow anyway. If people want fast-paced gameplay, this isn’t the right mode, unfortunately.

Everything takes time in naval warfare.

I admit, a mix between WT and Sea Power would be amazing, with matches like in EC that can last almost 3 hours.

Imagine launching Rafale strikes on bases or ground convoys from your aircraft carrier, the Charles de Gaulle? Madness!I’d sign up for that in a heartbeat.

War thunder needs to look at what their competitions are doing and adapt. There’s nothing special about War thunder’s naval game mode and nobody likes them anyways. What’s so historical about ships shooting at each other rather than protecting convoys or group strikes or any other naval mission.
