Naval mode is finally dead

Please check this topic:

You’ve definitely mastered the hypocrisy, but I really understand you. You want the aiming system to be exactly how you suggested (basically the same aiming system that WT mobile uses). Anything that is different you see as a bug. But the game is coded by the devs, not you. And I’m pretty sure the current system will be changed in the future.

You like the current WT mobile system, because this system doesn’t require to know how to aim (and you couldn’t learn this in the previous aiming system), but it still requires knowing which part of the enemy ship to aim at (and you learned this part). This is why you show so many screenshots with many kills, the WT mobile aiming system simply suits you.

But to be honest, the system we had yesterday was perfect from the new players perspective:

In this system, new players don’t need to know how to aim and where to aim at the same time. When AI does all the aiming for players, it benefits new players.

The devs are simplifying Naval Arcade for a long time now. Their goal was never to change the aiming system the way to satifty you and only you. They want the aiming system to be newbie friendly. And the current aiming system is still not newbie friendly. Players like you can take advantage of this system and very easily explode enemy ammunition. This is not good from new players perspective, who simply don’t know how to do that, so they can’t compete with you. There’s not even a tutorial in the game showing new players which part of the enemy ship to aim at. The result is, new players are dying like crazy now from ammo explosions, and they don’t know how do the same to their enemies. This is actually the opposite what the devs wanted to achieve.

Therefore, it is simply logical that the current system should be simplified even more. And fully automatic aiming solves this issue. It is very easy for new players to learn and it doesn’t require any advanced knowledge. It doesn’t matter if you like it or not, it’s a fact that such system is an improvement from new players perspective. And the devs clearly showed that they don’t care about experienced players in Naval Arcade. That’s why I suspect the current aiming system won’t stay for long, it will probably be simplified.

The aiming system we had yesterday, where the AI aimed for the player, actually seems like the perfect solution. You didn’t like it just because new players were suddenly at the same level as you (they could ammo rack your ship without knowing where to aim), and you want to keep this advantage over them.

It is beyond broken now most of my shots hit water right in front of me while enemy team AND AI BOTS pin point wreck me all together.

Defeat after defeat after defeat. Where do these teams come form? The predetermined under
tiered loser pool?

Also AI has been stealing tons of kills(when special task or wagers are in play it happens more).
Best Squad wager? me and 2 others, yes 3 person squad wrecking someone and AI one shot last kill at 5%. There is no way this game is not rigged when that keeps happening.

Need torpedo bomber kills? Line up a perfect shot on an 85% ship and AI one shots them seconds before your torp hits. How does stuff like this happen by chance?

Many games AI has more kills than me and I used to be a TERROR OF THE SEA on the regular but now my shots are pretty random. Over under left right no system.

It is not “point and click” for me.
It feels like a negative modifier has been placed on me because that is not working. I can fire the same spot 5 times and get 5 different results.

Why are they doing this?
This is the question we must ask.
Why does Ganjin hate its player base?
What is the goal here?
Customer aggravation?

Sure i don’t know “how to”

And I’m the one who theorize over speculations, instead of bug reporting.

Coming back to this chat. I’m back on controller, as an update for my situation, I couldn’t learn how to use a mouse. But, anyone having a problem with the aiming system thing? Like the gun’s aren’t elevating, and no matter if you’ve even locked and selected a target, it won’t fucking aim the guns properly?

I miss the old aiming system… please bring it back! :(

Yes that was happening to me yesterday. A short island was in front of my ship, so the guns wouldn’t “track” the target 10 km away… guns were pointed straight at the horizontal, shooting into the island… : [

Hah dude even if theres trees or buildings between you and the target it basically makes you aim just ahead of you. that new aiming system has SOME advantages but its flawed to the core. i sure miss the old system

Too bad in today patch they didn’t fix it.

Yeah. It’s too bad they completely destroyed an entire game mode. One people, like me, have spent $100s of dollar supporting. Because some people couldn’t figure out how to aim a little bit in front of their target. Like they do in every other game mode.

This whole thing is one big hot mess. And it has me quite upset.

Yeah I am having the same issue guns are stuck at about 1-2 km and when the guns are aimed at something further if they lose lock they snack down to 1-2 km much quicker then they should.

OMG, are they even checking what they are releasing!!

I mean it was not that difficult to check that changes of 2.45.1.48 were off and despite Kweedko reported them the bug with full explanation and details they released 2.45.1.50 at this current state?

If you do not want to test it or don’t have the manpower or what ever reason atleast just revert prior to 2.45.1.48!

This thread, these posts - this is the ongoing funeral for Naval Arcade. We’ve hundreds of posts, hundreds of hearts, vast majority of which are fighting against the dying of the light.

But there is no response, and so it goes.
So there is no change, and so it dies.

I had to play 3 matches to be able to post. I’ve stopped playing pretty much since they broke aiming.

Even in low tier, costals are just obliterated by Recruit tier bluewaters. Now are the plywood boats supposed to take part in matches? Skill doesn’t matter anymore so… what is gaijin going to do? Make them invisible base on crew points? reduce visibility to 2km if not looking thro binocs? It’s dumb. Costal was the funnest.

Seriously… like… how is it ok to break a game mode like this? And to ignore it for so long. If they DON’T CARE, leave the game for those of us who DO.

Image for Kweedle who always cherry picking full lobbies.

Playing on EU servers grinding Italy I am having the same for most of my games up to 3.
Every game above 3.3 is full of DD, they new ones with Phalanx CIWS and the Arleigh Burke’s accurasy.

BRs 4.0 to 5.0 are usually full in the afternoons but again this was prior to 2.45.1.50.

It’s because there were changes, the naval mode suffered.

Been playing arcade ever since the new update.
It is the mode to play river boats.
Really fun and really enjoyable.

they partially fixed it with 2.45.1.58 but I think is worse now.
If you get line of sight momentarily you can shoot the enemy even if he covers behind an obstacle so no hiding.

For some reason they also closed the bug report

https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder/i/80hrjd8a0ARL

I saw they fixed it. Played naval arcade. And then it happened like they didn’t fix it. Partial work, or a lie?

seems to be partial work with a new aiming error. Now when shooting on a selected target the first salvo has the wrong heading (no lead) - seems that they made some things even worse
