Naval mode is finally dead

we still on 2.45.1.48 yet

i PMed to two known technical moderators and marked it here with @ so probably something of this worked

From the .50 patch notes: “A bug that caused the turrets to not adjust fire to the crosshair in Naval Arcade Battles and instead fire at the same location on the enemy ship has been fixed.”

So the behavior while it was broken seems a little misinterpreted, it was just mirror imaging.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but I must point out that the naval aim has been broken as of now.

That’s exactly why I recorded videos, so everyone can see how it worked. It wasn’t shooting at the same location on the enemy ship, so the explanation given as a bug fix is not correct.

It could be a test of even more simplified aiming, it could be some mistake (maybe the devs used AI bots aiming code for player controlled vessels by mistake) or maybe there were some bugs that need to be fixed and this system will be added later.

It definitely wasn’t just random shooting. Even screenshots shown by Kweedko confirm this (all the enemy modules are destroyed by fully automatic aiming, that’s definitely not shooting at one random location).

So they fixed it but not whole,

from

still here, so have to report it, ugh

Created a report on this @Technical Moderators

can’t shoot any of them cause of it

hitreg is also completely broken, only noticed this with coastal for now

yep, its completely borked

maybe it was packetloss?

no, definitely not packet loss

I agree, I hate it hope they change it

omg. You are literally NOT EVEN AIMING. Wow. WTF, Gaijin. This is so stupid.

It’s literally getting worse…and WORSE. It’s… not even a game anymore. It’s slowly becoming an Idle Clicker.

You’re absolutely correct. Before, players at least were prepared to enter into realistic with the basics of aiming. NOW… Players are going to have ZERO context of how to aim.

OP is right. It’s like watching Gaijin drive nails into a coffin.

This is one time I was happy to see a death circle map, as there are no land masses in the way (except Midway). With this recent aiming system I feel so disconnected. Instead of aiming now I just bob and weave. This gest old really fast. I have to force myself to even play one match.

Lol. That’s just sad.

I was on a pr 206M, my favorite tactic is to amnorack SKR 7 by shooting front turret, just above the water line to blow up it’s ammo using rapid fire 57mm.

I was wondering why does the shells keep hitting the middle of the ship despite me pointing at the weak spot.

Furthermore, this just makes ships less accurate as users can no longer compensate for manuvers.

This change was reverted after not even one day. So we are back to “you have to put your crosshair on the enemy” aiming system.

I didn’t think to check the boats. I only checked ships and it worked very well there. So maybe this fully automatic aiming system had problems, when you used a boat. It’s a bit of a shame this system was reverted so quickly, so we can’t test it anymore. Just from pure curiosity, because this fully automatic aiming system had to be coded by one of the devs.

I also noticed that this fully automatic aiming system worked much better if you used ranging shot (fire guns separately). This way the AI was spreading the damage very nicely all over the enemy weakspots. But if you used salvos, all the shells were going into the same location, and since you had no control over that location it could create situations, where two salvos were shot at the same location by AI.

From a few tests I did, the AI usually aimed their first shots below enemy rear guns, but I didn’t do enough tests to check if there is any pattern here. They changed it back about 2-3 hours after I first heard about this aiming change. The devs also called this change a bug in the changelog, which is interesting. I’m not sure if this system will return (after some tweaks) or they just released it by mistake (maybe they had this idea before and even wrote the code for it, but later resigned from releasing it, but it was somehow activated by one of the updates).

Anyway, we will see what will happen in the future. Considering more and more bugs they add to Naval Arcade aiming, they are clearly still working with this code, so I expect to see more changes in this area in the near future.

You are delusional in your conclusions, system is still there for AI gus, it was a bug, there was no difference in single shots or full salvos cause each target for each turret chosed separately(which actual not right if turrets use FCS).

And system ain’t aiming right for 100+ mm guns overshooting a lot

is anyone else having issues aiming guns on destroyers? they seem to not even aim correctly, just shooting water.
its mostly noticable when i try shooting over islands or other obstacles

Please check this topic:

You’ve definitely mastered the hypocrisy, but I really understand you. You want the aiming system to be exactly how you suggested (basically the same aiming system that WT mobile uses). Anything that is different you see as a bug. But the game is coded by the devs, not you. And I’m pretty sure the current system will be changed in the future.

You like the current WT mobile system, because this system doesn’t require to know how to aim (and you couldn’t learn this in the previous aiming system), but it still requires knowing which part of the enemy ship to aim at (and you learned this part). This is why you show so many screenshots with many kills, the WT mobile aiming system simply suits you.

But to be honest, the system we had yesterday was perfect from the new players perspective:

In this system, new players don’t need to know how to aim and where to aim at the same time. When AI does all the aiming for players, it benefits new players.

The devs are simplifying Naval Arcade for a long time now. Their goal was never to change the aiming system the way to satifty you and only you. They want the aiming system to be newbie friendly. And the current aiming system is still not newbie friendly. Players like you can take advantage of this system and very easily explode enemy ammunition. This is not good from new players perspective, who simply don’t know how to do that, so they can’t compete with you. There’s not even a tutorial in the game showing new players which part of the enemy ship to aim at. The result is, new players are dying like crazy now from ammo explosions, and they don’t know how do the same to their enemies. This is actually the opposite what the devs wanted to achieve.

Therefore, it is simply logical that the current system should be simplified even more. And fully automatic aiming solves this issue. It is very easy for new players to learn and it doesn’t require any advanced knowledge. It doesn’t matter if you like it or not, it’s a fact that such system is an improvement from new players perspective. And the devs clearly showed that they don’t care about experienced players in Naval Arcade. That’s why I suspect the current aiming system won’t stay for long, it will probably be simplified.

The aiming system we had yesterday, where the AI aimed for the player, actually seems like the perfect solution. You didn’t like it just because new players were suddenly at the same level as you (they could ammo rack your ship without knowing where to aim), and you want to keep this advantage over them.

It is beyond broken now most of my shots hit water right in front of me while enemy team AND AI BOTS pin point wreck me all together.

Defeat after defeat after defeat. Where do these teams come form? The predetermined under
tiered loser pool?

Also AI has been stealing tons of kills(when special task or wagers are in play it happens more).
Best Squad wager? me and 2 others, yes 3 person squad wrecking someone and AI one shot last kill at 5%. There is no way this game is not rigged when that keeps happening.

Need torpedo bomber kills? Line up a perfect shot on an 85% ship and AI one shots them seconds before your torp hits. How does stuff like this happen by chance?

Many games AI has more kills than me and I used to be a TERROR OF THE SEA on the regular but now my shots are pretty random. Over under left right no system.

It is not “point and click” for me.
It feels like a negative modifier has been placed on me because that is not working. I can fire the same spot 5 times and get 5 different results.

Why are they doing this?
This is the question we must ask.
Why does Ganjin hate its player base?
What is the goal here?
Customer aggravation?

Sure i don’t know “how to”

And I’m the one who theorize over speculations, instead of bug reporting.
