Naval mode is finally dead

That is what the game is showing me, so yes iam sure.

Well, got some bad news; RIM-24A doesn’t need to impact that close to magazine to detonate it.

Cringe, I know.

yeah, its truly an amazing, balanced aspect of Naval.

14km range, likes to just disappear around 12 to 13km.

You could vote for a decent suggestion about removing haze filter form fist person view in naval battles, which strips all naval players from emersion and quality view .

For those who are actually grinding the USS NoDak

Ammo carried is properly modeled, look how empty the mags are at 50%

Is this a bug or international?
Why on earth did they removed the other shell slots

Also, all the ammo’s got mangled for all secondary weapons on ships/boats:

And people complained about the Bravy. Lol.

Go vote about “new water/weather”

Lol only 2 players, this one hit hard

Wtf have they done to the sound!?

Now I get my main guns completely in one side of my headphones whenever I fire them despite being side on to the screen and firing broadside with all guns both fore and aft

It’s distracting and unrealistic as hell not to mention a bit disorientating as to where other sounds mixed in are coming from properly

One of the reasons I started playing Naval is that I don’t have to use headphones. Save your ears and just use speakers.

My speakers are calibrated studio monitors in a treated space, if I use them (which is fine) I get the same issues

That’s all besides the point, the sound staging has become entirely unrealistic and wrong af and it sounds wonky and distracting regardless

Dear Gaijin Team,

First of all, as a long-time player, supporter and admirer, I want to express my sincere thanks.
With “Leviathans” and the introduction of iconic ships like the Bismarck, Graf Zeppelin and the Leviathan concept, you have achieved something remarkable. These ships are masterpieces. The attention to detail, the textures, the weapon systems – all of it shows how much talent, dedication and probably budget you have invested in the naval mode.
The ships not only look outstanding, they sound and feel majestic. And for that, I want to thank you,
also on behalf of many others who appreciate this effort.

But precisely because you have created all this, I turn to you today with urgency.

The problem – The ship is sinking

Despite this impressive achievement, Naval remains sparsely populated, lifeless and lacking a future
perspective. The statistics speak for themselves: – Steam regularly shows around 60,000 concurrent
players for War Thunder, but Naval is just a footnote. – After Leviathans, participation in Naval Arcade
and Naval Realistic even dropped further. – Matches are mostly filled with bots, and players leave after a few rounds.
The community calls it a “dead aquarium.”
And I must agree: as beautiful as the scenery is – it lacks soul.

The voice of the community – and it is loud

For years, players have been asking for:
– Convoy missions, where you escort or attack NPC transports.
– Harbor attacks, fighting heavy coastal defenses and AI fleets.
– Cooperative scenarios with real objectives, instead of just “capture a circle” and “sink bots.”
– Dynamic events with replay value and excitement.

“The naval mode looks great but plays like an empty aquarium.” – PhlyDaily
“Convoy missions would be easy to implement and finally give a reason to play more.” – MikeGoesBoom
“I don’t want another cruiser. I want to have fun with the ones we already have.” – Reddit thread with 500+ upvotes
“Harbor attacks with AI fleets could save this mode.” – OddBawz

On Reddit, YouTube and the forums, these wishes appear again and again – with hundreds to
thousands of voices.
In a Discord survey, over 80 % of respondents said they would immediately play
Naval if there were PvE missions – and would be more likely to spend money on the mode.

The hard truth

You’ve invested millions in this mode – in assets, maps, mechanics. But at present, this fleet seems to be
quietly rusting away. Ships, no matter how beautiful, don’t motivate if they’re just wasted in empty,
repetitive matches.
Many no longer buy premium ships because they know: “Why should I? The mode is no fun anyway.”
And so you burn money – not because your work is bad, but because you don’t give players a reason to
appreciate it.

The way forward

Naval has the potential to be a crown jewel of War Thunder.
You already have:
– the technology
– the assets
– the players (who are just waiting)

What’s missing is content that captivates.
Co-op and PvE content that offers tension, replayability and emotional connection could save this fleet.
And economically, it would pay off: Players who have fun spend more. Players who are excited stay
longer.

My appeal
Please: don’t let this fleet sink. Listen to the community, listen to the numbers. It would be a shame to
let all this excellent work rust away, when players and developers alike had the chance to create
something truly special.
Bring life to this aquarium. Make War Thunder’s seas a place players navigate with pride and joy.
On behalf of many players, I thank you for your time – and hope you not only read, but feel this appeal.

Sincerely,
Bullwyff

Please add to your list a comment about the multitude of voices who detest the aiming changes to Naval Arcade. I myself have been trying for months to get ANY sort of response from the team, and thus far it has been only radio silence. I no longer play Naval after spending hundreds of $'s and hundreds or thousands of hours playing Naval. To respond to the inevitable “just play Realistic”, no. I will not. I simply do not enjoy RB modes, of any type. Air, Land, or Sea. I can play RB just fine, but I do not enjoy squinting at pixels for 30 minutes to find 1 or 2 enemies. It just is not fun for me.

Therefore, Naval Arcade aiming being ruined = Naval is completely ruined for me. And I have gotten nothing but the cold shoulder and radio silence from the Devs, Managers, Mods, everyone. Not one single word from any of them. It is quite offensive. And I now have 0 desire to spend any more of my time or money supporting a company that would treat its long term players, and especially its paying customers, in such a way. I actually started playing other games for the majority of my time recently. And even if/when I do play War Thunder, I have zero plans on spending any further money here, even if it is for Air or Land.

I am still here @ Team. Hoping one of you cares enough some day to have a conversation with us Naval players who are turned off by the NAB aiming changes, who you have thus far completely ignored.

Cheers.

I would request that you add your entire post above (hopefully with a line about the aiming changes to NAB) to the thread below. Many players are already watching/tracking this thread and will get pinged when you post your comments and suggestions there, thank you! 👍
  • Some screenshots to illustrate my time and monetary investments into Naval Battles. Not only did I spend considerable time and money acquiring my premium botes, but I also spent much time, and often GE’s, Ace training and max Crew Leveling many of my botes too:

good lord all those premiums that one guy has shown…

I enjoy the change in pace of naval from the rest of the game, HMS belfast is quite a blast. Dont really get the quarrels with the mode other than some common WT issues and horrific matchmaking times
