Furthermore, with the arrival of Trump’s ships (and his Trump-class vessels) and the Chinese naval presence, the current navies are reaching a historic juncture.

Many are at a point where they must modernize their fleets and will have to choose between massive ships like China or the US, or a fleet with smaller but more numerous vessels like France’s.

A ton of incredible new equipment is coming out and/or has already been released, and they could capitalize on it immensely.

Sea power had a slow gameplay but Everything in the water is pretty slow anyway. If people want fast-paced gameplay, this isn’t the right mode, unfortunately.

Everything takes time in naval warfare.

I admit, a mix between WT and Sea Power would be amazing, with matches like in EC that can last almost 3 hours.

Imagine launching Rafale strikes on bases or ground convoys from your aircraft carrier, the Charles de Gaulle? Madness!I’d sign up for that in a heartbeat.

War thunder needs to look at what their competitions are doing and adapt. There’s nothing special about War thunder’s naval game mode and nobody likes them anyways. What’s so historical about ships shooting at each other rather than protecting convoys or group strikes or any other naval mission.

thats literally what youre doing in naval ec. best gamemode in the entire game, played by barely anyone.

unfortunately riddled with tons of other problems because, yk its war thunder there needs to be 2 or 3 crappy things per gamemode otherwise youd be thinking you play something else. Ofc bc its the best gamemode it also can only be playable on 4 days per week of which 2 need to be with the arcade aiming that apparently no one likes. Because…well…why actually?

that and that it has to be snowball simulator (like all other gamemodes) because, well we cant have a gamemode where 2 overpowered vehicles cant solo decide a 3 hour match in a matter of minutes and even if you manage to lose it until then you will have gained so much sp that you can simply respawn it twice until you died and just push the whole enemy team out of the match. All gamemodes must cater to the tik tok attention span generation. But seriously, it wouldnt be wart humper if they would actually balance it and fix the exploits and bug that are running rampant for years on end.

RB and arcade, well thats a completely different can of worms and after spading my stuff i cant stand playing these unrealistic brawlfests which are just sit behind one island at spawn because going anywhere else is autodeath, well at least for everything that isnt a sojuz, iowa or scharnhorst. Only to have 70% of matches decided by some stupid pt boats in 4 minutes, well because why not. Arent we all playing top tier naval to be stuck at spawn and see tickets go zoom? Ironic as it is and to sort of to ridicule that whole pointless af mode thats exactly what id be doing actually, but well we all know which nation is unbeatable in high tier coastals (and im not grinding coastals now for 5 months just to pull that dumb move every top tier match) so theres that.

Anyways besides all that rambling, great balans comes with many ah fans of the mode so here we are. Pointless gamemode gets 0 fans

Coastal is an entirely different beast from bluewater

Same as low tier bluewater vs mid or high tier.

I am aware that the SS is wildly stronger along with the other hard hitters of the US, Soviet, Japanese and German trees but my eyebrows were raised when the Warspite just seemed to not be as durable as it should be for what it was.

A lot of ships aren’t as durable as they should be. Conversely, a lot of ships are also stronger than they would be in real life.

Yamatos are made of glass while Soyuz is the defacto best ship period.

Reason: anomalously huge explosive filler and armor that straight up shrugs off 46cm AP consistently. Iowa can equally shrug off 46cms but Iowa also doesn’t hit as hard as Soyuz and has a few bow weakpoints at close range.

Out of the 8.7s, Yamato sisters are probably the weakest with Iowa and Soyuz being leagues better. Faster, ahistorically more maneuverable and just better armored in general, we’ve been trying to get the two buffed since leviathans dropped with Yamato.

Instead they nerf their magazine health like it wasn’t already piss easy to kill them to begin with. Yamatos need to pixel hunt the Soyuz, Iowa and - to a lesser extent - South Dakota. Conversely, most ships just need to aim in the general direction of the bow turrets or turret 3.

At least the 46s sound absolutely vicious when fired, I guess.

I’m (very slowly) working on the British tree, and yeah, this is what it feels like… are there any real advantages to British ships past this point? The battleships are survivable (so far) but otherwise have slower reloads, weaker shells, slower traverse, slower speeds, weaker AA… not a lot of advantages over their contemporaries

No unless you absolutely like the ships for their historical significance.

Rodney is painfully mid, Prince of Wales has the worst shells in the game at 7.7.

And got uptiered to 8.0 despite her abysmal shells.

These shells are barely excusable at 7.0, let alone 7.3.

I am still baffled as to why the PoW was raised to 8.0. It genuinely makes no sense.

You can barely scratch anything thats farther than 6km

Most ships can’t even penetrate a broadside Soyuz at 6km.

It takes several salvos to mag det it from a tosa at 5 and that’s if you’re shooting it in the back of the turrets while it casually ignores you

i see they haven’t fixed the bug where torpedoes don’t appear and the torpedo buzzer doesn’t sound off on occasion

I feels like the torpedo warning not working is the norm these days.

torpedoes are bugged in several ways,

  • torpedo aiming marker is not visible in gunner view
  • torpedo tubes start their reload cycle even if not fully depleted caussing them not to work until the reload is completed (still showing green marker…) All vessels are affected!

I’m back from my mute for saying that a bug report getting closed in 2 days is a new record in the dedicated complaint thread entitled “naval is dead.” What year is it? Are subs in the game? If they are, they run about as deep and slow as I expected, because I didn’t see a single one today!

From the few games I played today, it seems that a new bug started to crop up, though it’s just a minor UI glitch. When I first spawn in a ship, the turret indicators don’t appear until I’ve moved the firing point into their gun arc. So a ship with 4 turrets might only show 2 at the bottom of the HUD until I turn your camera.

Don’t forget that currently torpedoes are completely wakeless! Every few major updates torpedo wakes disappear and don’t show up again for months - perhaps even more major updates.

That’s an intentional feature now, though the part where you can’t launch probably is unintended.
