Naval maps are too big

this is what we currently have and its not great

Naval maps are far too small. Scharnhorst and other vessels are extremely powerful because all their targets are instantly within effective range from spawn. Its the main reason I don’t play much naval. even at mid tier in a Town class you spawn in optimal range to shoot and get shot.

You keep making threads on things you either are too subpar of a player to know how the core gameplay loop works. nor do you seem to know the technical sides of weaponry.

Torpedoes are really hard to aim because they were abysmal to aim. Most torpedo sinkings were from U boats up close and personal for a reason. Buffing torpedoes would be inaccurate and remove the reason to spawn small torpedo boats to rush people around points.

scarnhorst could just run you down then if ya try plunging fire as shes a fast battle ship i feel naval need major decompression 8.0 to 9.0 11.0 when they add iowa and stuff

Unfixed for years bugs is what benefit the Scharn





I feel the need to revive this post. In the map Palau Island, the players are spawned so far away that the game warns them to “RETURN TO THE BATTLE”.

The map is where players pointlessly cruise between cover to cover, until they get into close range (6-8km) engagement.

Why not just spawn at 6-8km away? Skipping the time wasting.

naval maps are so boring there should be more CQC combat between boats its rather boring people sitting in spawn 11 miles apart shelling eachother and theres no way to approach as theres no cover its just lobbing shells at range with low chance of hitting and its boring as hell there should be more CQC we need more islands in maps or smaller maps

very few times do boats hit each other past 11miles it was not uncommon but it was very rare to hit at those ranges therefore maps should have a range of 9 miles as that was standard range for engagements
for example USS washington disabled kirishima at 5 miles but past 11miles you have like a 10% hit chance

no its real? naval maps are very poorly designed

I would like to revive this discussion with how common South Kvarken is getting.

On the encounter mode of the map, I literally spent 15 minutes out of 25 minutes sailing, leaving me with 10 minutes of actually engaging the enemies, because my guns can’t engage more than 13km.

yea we should get new maps like WOW which with sailing around sub 10 mi fighting going between islands and stuff the open sea stuff is just who has a better boat which is huge advantage for people have a better boat

Make them 10-20Km 30 and 40km your enemy literally have time to change direction to avoid getting hit.

Straight hassle to play on these 20km maps, I find 15km to be the sweet spot for random battles. Larger maps works in EC because there are other objectives to accomplish rather than gunning other players. It would be best of interest to introduce EC as a permanent mode if you’d want to please everyone.
