You can’t unlock target so if there’s 2 ships you’re stuck to firing at the one you first locked on. Next target key doesn’t work.
Furthermore when in scope on some ships (for example the reserve french bluewater ship), at some distances if you want to hit anything you aren’t able to see the enemy ship as the green circle thingie is too high (you lower the mouse, to lower the green circle thingie, until the enemy ship is above the scope top margin and you can’t see anything, disgusting).

There is a setting to mark the target manually or to have it automatically target. The “X” key is used to select targets, but it if they are close or overlapping they may be difficult to select depending on your settings.
I just manual targeting to avoid this.
