Naval EC should not become another version of standard Naval Battles

After that match i joined into this one. 8.3 top without any 8.7, if only the matchmaker keeps joining more people after an hour, it will be a full match. If matchmaker preferred joining over creating i bet in half hour any match will be filled full.

Yep, they need to fix that. and balance teams better. If joining late isnt a problem anymore because players already in the match for half an hour can already be in battleships and you cant, if now you can spawn in your battleship rightaway, why not put players in running matches…

They really need to put Prince of Wales to 7.3.

And old one bug is still there. If there’s only one player in team and he takes a plane- team looses in a minute)

Not here. No SP.

From what I have seen most players join, sail for a couple of minutes, then failing to see anything to shoot, leave.
The argument that NRB/NAB have too small maps and not enough objectives is perfectly legitimate, but the “therefore NEC must be turned into NAB/NRB” is just spiteful, it is no different then the people that don’t want to play air or ground arcade so they demand the features of arcade be migrated to realistic.
Then there is the “bot farming is great for grinding”… how did that go in air sim? and once you grind the TT then what? While the issue of not having BBs or having a premium BB and no lower BR DD are legitimate issues it’s not like gaijin doesn’t provide default vehicles in other modes.
Rather then the completely gut NEC I would suggest:

  1. actually asking for the issues in NAB/NRB to be addressed rather then just turning NEC into another clone of them, farther splitting the already low player bases and there by ensuring farther neglect of the modes.
  2. Return the SP system and provide default DD and BBs for players to use if they have not unlocked the tree.
  3. increase SP earnings, or provide extra starting SP for those that join late
  4. add shallow waters, reefs, shoals, possibly even rivers systems that are to shallow and sheltered for capital ships to operate and provide objectives in those areas for coastal boats and DDs to complete to earn SP in a safer environment then in open water engagements. Things like mine sweeping/ mine laying in harbors, river patrols, missions like shooting down planes could trigger search and rescue missions, same with the sinking of capital ships, both AI and player, DDs etc rescuing crews coulds not only generate SP for the smaller ships but also restore tickets if successfully returned to a friendly harbour.
  5. provide “hotspot” indicators for where engagements are and their intensity, this would serve 2 purposes, 1st prevent people unintentional spawning way too far from the action and leaving, and 2nd the exact opposite of giving people some warning of what they are spawning into.

Extra SP for lagging bejind – yes.
Increasing SP earning – no.
It will kill all classes instead top BBs. If we want EC for all classes, SP cost for all ships shall be increased. With SP cost of 8.7 1200+ players will not can to speedrun BBs from DDs, and in this race it will be efficient to get intermediate vehicles like cruisers and early BBs.
With increased SP cost in the battle will be role for the new player without toptiers.

Fair point, I was more thinking of a temporary boost to let players catch up, not a blanket SP buff, I should have communicated that more clearly.
I do agree that increasing SP for higher BR ships would be a good idea, losing an 8.7 BB should HURT, you should not just be able to shrug it off and chain pull another one.

Yeah. EC gameplay should be built around setups, not only around tops.

Looks like at least mastery bonuses work on dev server in new EC

It would be great if we could have any answer from gaijin/@Stona_WT

Since the EC rework tests I made, I totally stopped playing naval. Thank you.

they just dont seem to listen they have most likely seen this and done nothing EC is dead unless they change it back there isnt a reason to grind new stuff to play since there are no good modes left now

EC is honestly good with these sorts of changes. People who have no interest in fucking PvP can play in peace without bothering anyone.

Now, let’s “break” it further and remove the SP wall for aircraft, too.

For RB, I am of the opinion that the AB aiming system is flat-out so much superior to the RB one it’s not even funny. One actually works, the other doesn’t. I hope RB eventually gets the AB aiming system, because as far as I’m concerned, the RB system just doesn’t work and never has.

Also in general, I can only imagine if all guns on ships were made to shoot completely and perfectly straight with no dispersion. This is a game, after all, and if your rounds do not fly where you aim them, there IS no “skill” one can use to adjust.

RB works, unlike AB one lol. AB one will miss completely when the ship slightly changes course too.

Well, at least the AB one hits more often in my experience. I have the RB one bound to adjust ranges with the mouse scroll wheel, and between the inconsistency of the distance measurement and the artificial dispersion, hitting anything beyond about 6km is a fool’s errand. And if that’s just in DDs, yeah that kinda repels me from the mode more broadly.

I do like how RB removes the markers to sometimes enable actually sneaking up on people. But RB badly needs the AB system. It just works better given WT’s incredibly clunky aiming code. Of course if some people absolutely refuse to use it the option to use the old system would be there.

RB one is superior, sorry. You will loose the little amount of people in RB if you give the shit AB aiming there.

It’s really not man, at least not in my experience. But you do you. Snail’s naval aiming code is atrocious and the AB system simply ignores it. That’s why its better - you aren’t fighting the interface anymore.

As for those few Naval RB players? Let 'em leave. Naval is already a fringe game mode as-is.

The arcade aiming is garbage, i hate it. Good for anyone that likes it but i think its horrible, never knowing where your gunners are actually automatically aiming when the enemy ship is maneuvering. Are they accounting for the vector of the ship atm, are they accounting for the vector that the ship is changing course, at what point are they doing so? Constantly? never? Because half the shots overshoot by several 100s of m even if no one is changing course sometimes.

You just gotta get used to the rb aiming and watch at what point u get a new firing solution reading then its 10 times more reliable to shoot while maneuvering at targets that are also maneuvering than with the crap arcade aiming (that is bugged for like half the ships atm anyhow)

Though rb aiming can be horrible at close distances i give you that.

If youre not used to something and dont know how it works yet, almost everything feels bad. Basejumping-Bad. Rugby-Very Bad. Free solo climbing-Horrible. Naval RB aiming-bad.

But in big parts that one’s also on the snail, since they couldnt be bothered, like ever, to make any good guides or video tutorials for that.

There’s nothing to get used to - sure you can see where your guns are aiming to a point, but the distance measurement is constantly wrong and when paired with artificially enhanced gun spraying it makes hitting outside 5km basically not worth it. And if its that bad with just DD guns, I can only imagine how terrible it is with anything taking longer to reload.

I will take my guns auto-adjusting range on targets not waggling all over the place any day of the week over the joke RB has. I have the controls bound for it, but so often the rounds simply do not go where I fucking aim them to go, even when I adjust with the scroll wheel to account for “oh he’s moving slightly towards me, I had better aim a little lower distance-wise than where he currently is to ensure they hit.” It doesn’t work until you’re within spitting distance thanks to artificial gun spraying.

I tried playing it before, I’ve been playing the game as a whole for the better part of 11 years. But now that a generally working alternative exists, now I plainly see just how terrible the RB system is, and always was.

Go play PvE in World of Warcraft. There it is really good. Why PvP players should give last PvP naval mode to bot farmers? There will be no peace for you in the EC.
