naval just got massive rework which is so good but we need one more thing other than decompression which is the CAP ZONES which end the match to fast no player ever caps them and you dont even need them other than to resupply and its not even historically accurate so please remove them they ruin matches by ending them to fast
also usually its AIs capping or guys in PT boats so its mid
Problem is, most of these maps need a version for bluewater and a version for coastal.
And the current maps that exist for bluewater need reworks.
Especially the circle only maps because open water maps with 10 to 14km spawns for battleships is borderline unplayable for so many ships it’s not funny.
Removing caps simply makes every map a defacto Circle of Death.
Players will have even less reason to push forward and you end up with everyone sat back stationary behind whatever cover is available. Its taking the worst of BB battles and forcing even the smallest ships and boats to play the style.
yeah i dont think most people understand high tier naval is a lot longer than other modes and shares little with them you can make as much as air but the game has to last longer
wait til they realise most dreadnoughts are actually faster than most armored vehicles.
The sense of slowness is due to how colossal ships are in comparison and the distances they have to cover. The 10 or so minute format used to exist at top tier naval; it was called everybody using Scharnhorst.
And everyone knows how miserable that was Pre-leviathans.

Yeah, that used to happen too.
And Scharnhorst took the concerted effort of an entire team to kill one. And that lone Scharnhorst would likely kill 3 of its enemies in the process before it finally sank. Or it decided to let you hammer it for zero damage (and not repairing damage) while its teammates erased you for focus firing it.
If they did it now, replace Scharnhorst with an angled Soyuz. Or five.
Oh wait, they did do it, it’s called the single circle maps that invalidate every ship with more than 30 second reloads.
You either make the maps smaller which drastically biases ships like Soyuz, Nagatos, Bismarck, Iowa or SoDak in an up tier or you completely invalidate cruisers or even DDs in a downtier because now they have no chance of evading incoming fire.
One only needs to play 5.3 CLs to see what it can be like and get a downtier into the 4.7 maps

Do I think it makes sense to remove the objectives we currently have completely? Possibly, but only with a well thought-out replacement. Does it make sense to keep them as-is then? I would argue absolutely not 😂
I’m not confident I’ve seen any great solutions in here thus far, and I know this is a bit of a non-statement because I honestly don’t believe I’m knowledgable enough to offer a genuinely compelling solution myself here, but if we do come up with some way to make naval as a game mode even remotely close to the grandeur of what actually took place in the real world (which I think we can agree the current state of naval game modes do nothing to achieve)- everything else will follow naturally…

Every time I get a 3 cap map in 8.0-8.7 and try to play them I’m reminded why I usually crew lock and move on.
I’m here to play a battleship, not spawn a PT boat and on ships without floatplanes there’s literally nothing you can do even if you charge full speed at the caps to try to prevent it from ending immediately.
That map has so many rocks and so many chose north where all the islands are so everyone up there got nothing and the little damage done was mostly shooting the south side bots.
That match was a complete waste of 10 minutes for everyone involved outside the people who padded their stats
Battleships and tiny circles an eternity away are not compatible or enjoyable for anyone but those looking to pad their win rate.
