alright so i have been playing naval recently and found out that the USS moffett for example faces heavy cruisers and some reverse destroyers end up facing stronger ones so in overall expanding the BR bracket higher to allow for more breathing room and the ability for the destroyers to fight equal ones to it
but since battlecruisers and battleships are the most dominating ships it’s unfair when in for example Kirov Light Cruiser faces early battleships and top tier battleships
i wouldn’t even mind facing battleships as a light or heavy cruiser, but during the grind for HMS Barham, i noticed that very often one team has more battleships and battlecruisers than the other team (usually it was the enemy team that had like 3-5 BBs while my team sometimes could just offer 1 or 2 of them, if at all). the main issue is that shooting BBs as a cruiser is barely worth it from a mission score and RP/SL perspective, so usually one BB ends up carrying the match because no one wants to shoot at it. even BBs shooting at BBs don’t get a lot of points/RP/SL so they rather focus on the light targets first. one solution for this would be to separate battlecruiser and battleship spawns from cruiser spawns. often it happens that cruisers just get picked out by the BBs because they just happen to spawn all in the same place so a BB doesn’t really have to carefully pick its target, it can just shoot into the spawn and it’s gonna hit something.
i’d also love to see an overhaul of the naval damage model because in its current state it’s just awful. armor pretty much doesn’t matter anymore. even in a BB i often don’t survive for long because of the absurd crew loss rate. don’t even get me started on how BBs decimate cruisers in 1-3 salvos most of the time (same goes for cruisers against DDs).
