Why is there a naval battlepass challenge to kill player ships with a fighter??? What fighter exactly am i supposed to use at rank 3+ that wont get murdered??? They cant kill a thing. What is wrong with Gaijin and their battlepasses.

Some fighters have good bombs, like P-51.
bombs are worthless against actual ships and at rank 3+ no one plays coastal ships or if they do they have proxy 40mm or 20mm auto cannons that rip 1940’s planes out of the sky

I completed it using the Fw 190 A-5/U14. The torpedo is quite weak but if you get in a down tier and go for already damaged ships, you can get it done
Agree tho its really hard.
If I take a look at Tech tree and non premium options. I dont see many low tier I have with decent enough armament to do anything. Since I only have naval for Japan and Italy. And best those can field for free is 1 or 2 250 kg bomb. I wish I had G.55s for stuff like that lol. Putting torpedo on fighter planes is ridiculous anyway.
No idea what nation you play, but if I were to complete it with Britain then:
- Sea Hawk
- Sea Meteor
- Seafire
- Corsair Mk2
- Typhoon Mk1b
- Tempest Mk5 / Mk2
etc etc
There are quite a few fighters that can kill ships, though overall, i think it should be changed to any aircraft rather than a specific sub-class given thev overall strength advantage for naval AA

1000lb are perfectly capable of sinking destroyers and cruisers, and do a LOT of damage to battleships.

Hmm… depends exactly what and where (Nelrods for example feel really vulnerable to unsinkability loss, and im not sure would survive multiple direct hits from 1000lb bombs), but didnt necessarily say that 2-3x 1000lb would kill, but just do a lot of damage. And if it was already damaged from a fight, then it might be enough to sink it
but there are still usually bot cruisers pottering about though at 7.7 as well, so jets are an option
a 1000lb bomb usually does pretty fair damage if placed next to a turret. But tbf who does this challenge against 7.7+ BBs. Max I would go is 6.7 BBs. Focusing on British ones bc they have 0 AAA

Still tho. Prob lowest br with decent enough bomb or chance to pick onto some coastals is prob best bet to get this challenge.
At higher br above ww1 era battleships the better deck armor and AA makes most air attacks pretty useless. Often not even getting the bomb itself thru the wall of bullets.

Id consider it, just to use something like the Sea Meteor for something really fast, but would probably still target a cruiser not a battleship
P-47 and 1000 lbs works great. Very little at 3.7 that can stop you in time if you’re diving at full speed.
Yeah, it would probably be easier.
I used Re.2001CN and Baleno to earn spawn points for it in NRB, it was quite easy.
Ig ww1 era battleships around 6.0-7.0 are general are easyer picking than cruisers with heavy AA and sure 500 kg can do the job. It is still pretty hard challenge. Especially for Japanese fighters that cant really field any big bombs at low br. But even 250 kg bombs are enough to take down cripled ship sometimes.

I think I did it in 2-3 battles.
F6F is in a few trees at Tier 3 and BR 3.0, and can carry 3 x 1000lb bombs or a torpedo.
And it is “vehicles” - not ships, so boats count and plenty of fighters can destroy small boats
the problem is that all of the boats have laser accurate aa, so you can’t get anywhere near them.
fundamentally this is an issue of gaijin not understanding what a battlepass is for. why are they expecting people to pay 2500 GE to be forced to do a dozen unfun boring tasks with half of them being super frustrating?
… do they not wonder why the battlepass isn’t very popular?
Just make it playtime or mission score based or simple kills based. Job done. Nothing of importance lost.

Until 1.5 years ago or so there were way more US Rank III planes. The F6F, F4U, A36 and some one of the B25s got demoted to rank II. Quite arbitrary, and highly annoying, because then the BR needed for naval tasks got higher.
