Tbh, kinda feeling AA might have been nerfed again.
Been playing NEC recently, and you get waves of AI aircraft, flying in a straigt line doing nothing, and ive yet to hit any of them with AA fire, either large volleys of HE-TF at id guess 5 or 6km and once even all the terrertiary guns opening up at 3 or 4 km.
The spread is all over the place, with shells appearing to be falling visibly below the target. Im not sure if this is something exclusive to NEC, a bug or a change. But a small part of me is actually wondering if they need to buff some AA a bit actually (Id add accumalative accuracy, the longer the guns are firing at a target, the more accurate they become)
I’ve done naval air much for a few months, but it still feels give or take as frustrating as it always did.
I’m doing brit using the f6f, and i almost always get sniped by a bot player’s aa. at least 50% of my kills are on bots too, it’s so annoying. 2 days of trying, quite decent win rate because i’m good at coastal, but every time i get within 1km of a boat in a plane i explode xD
I actually used to really like doing air in naval before the insane AA buff. strafing bot boats half a dozen times to kill them was always fun!
I think it might be the bot boats having too strong of an AA , rather than explicitly being ALL AA. Because something definetly feels off the past month or so
9:3 win rate in the past couple of hours, and i only managed to hit a single boat, and it was a german aa barge :D
it has been specifically bot-boats ever since they made the AA change. I’ve pretty much not bothered with planes in coastal since, just too frustrating.
I guess yo must be watching some other gamers tho - 'cos I get shot down a lot.
But getting shot down doesn’t stop me getting the kills - a plane for a ship or boat will get you this pretty quickly.
I don’t play RB - AB is a much better mode in naval.
Yes you can get shot down km away, but if you stick to lower BR’s there’s a lot less prox ammo, and small alterations in course/height will usually keep you safe from the more common time fused at longer ranges.
Once you get inside 20mm range you will often get a kill even while being shot down.
