Nah, i think this is better. Realistic is for brain on gameing. Arcade is for Brain off gameing. I hope teh rest of Arcade gets a similar simplification and streamline overhaul.
stealth approach doesn’t work with enemy ships using ai secondaries or AA, so all bluewater and mostly frigates and even some coastals
War thunder can even get realistic right otherwise I would be playing that instead. It doesn’t make sense how the camera adjusts so much you can’t even see your target with how much you need to adjust each shot. Just stir at the ocean whilst your target is at the very top of the screen until they go completely out of view. That’s what I dislike about it.
There was nothing wrong with Arcade Naval aiming system prior to update. It teaches players to play Realistic just like like all other modes. Just imagine they did the same system for tanks and planes for all arcade period 🤦🏻♂️
I would seriously bin the entire game and look for something else that can hold some sort of realistic approach and skill set that teaches people how to shoot.
It doesn’t make sense the changes they made other than to destroy naval arcade all together. That’s what tutorials are for.
Otherwise War Thunder should have a different difficulty level game mode called simplified battles in all modes that separates arcade and realistic so people don’t have to learn anything to play the game
Sorry for the rant man. I just have a serious hate on for Naval all together now as it’s ruined the mode that I really enjoyed. Naval is so terrible now in my opinion. I won’t bother playing it no more
The new aiming system made river boats playable.

This “current previous” aiming system arrived 2-3 years ago, and there were similar outcries about it when that happened.
However they do not have FCS like ships do - except that modern ones do and already have 1 of hte FCS system components giving automated solutions to players.
Fact is there are also plenty of people saying there’s nothign wrong with it.

We’re talking about our discontent with the current aimbot system, WHY, and how we want it reverted. That’s the conversation happening here.
For everyone’s info - here’s some stages of how Arcade shooting used to be - every time teh aiming system has been changed it has been to add more and more automation to Arcade:
This one was still in the closed BETA and didn’t make it to the game IIRC - you made 3 “ranging shots” and after that range was automatically adjusted:
The one that made into the game had ranging FCS - you had to fire 1 ranging shot - ANB comes in at 22 mins
The “current previous” system was added late 2021 - it added FCS to calculate lead and range and provide the “green circle”. Ranging shot was replaced with taking time to calculate the solution :

Just to add to this conversation, the recent community update in no way acknowledged our protests. I posted asking why, was ignored, and instead someone else asking about naval events got a reply. I’ve since replied at the moderator again requesting acknowledgement from gaijin, and others here should as well. Continue the discontent, continue to not play NAB, continue to reject this change.
I had no issues at all with coastal boats and the previous aiming system. It was just a matter of learning how to aim leading the target. Survival in little torpedo boats made of wood was a challenge as I would say the only issue there was your rivals being massively over powered like SKR-7 and Pr. 206 where your guaranteed to be dead if you are anywhere within range of them. Instead of ruining naval arcade there should be a separate mode called handicap battles separate for all ground, sea and air for those that want to play a full arcade mode with full aiming assists.
So the modes will be:

Handicap Battles - all modes full aim assist with new aim system

Arcade Battles - players markers and lead target with previous aim system
