The jump in RP and SL cost for Ships and Helicopters going from Rank 5 to 6 is probably one of the most overlooked deficiencies in those Tech Trees, so I thought I’d bring it to at least a few people’s attention and hopefully get the costs reworked just like how Air and Ground get after a new rank is added.
We all know Gaijin is trying to revive naval, but one of the biggest hurdles making players turn away from grinding is the disproportionate increase in cost for capability at higher tiers. USS Texas for example, costs 175,000 RP and 490,000 SL to get, but USS Arizona, just one BR step above at 7.3, costs 380,000 RP and 990,000 SL. Meanwhile, USS Colorado, which again is just one BR step above the Arizona, has an ever so slight increase in cost at 390,000 RP and 1,050,000 SL. If the jump from rank 5 to 6 was duplicated in the jump from rank 6 to 7, USS Iowa which is THREE BR steps above USS Colorado, would cost an insane 911,400 RP and 2,323,000 SL, instead of 420,000 RP and 1,150,000 SL.

Helicopters are in an arguably worse spot with their cost increases in the higher ranks, with the UH-1B costing 99,000 RP, yet the AH-6M that comes directly after it in rank 6 requiring a whopping 3.74x more RP at 370,000 RP. I know gaijin made it possible to research helicopters using ground vehicles, but that doesn’t justify the absurd amount of time you need to put in just to get out of rank 5 into rank 6. All of this, coupled with a terrible PvE mode provided to grind helicopters, means there is absolutely no incentive to grind to the top besides having a vehicle that can single-handedly decide how a GRB match ends.

Gaijin has intensified the pain for the navy in this update, with reduced accuracy of most battleship main guns, farther map spawn points, enhanced AI accuracy, and fragile hull mechanisms. Not to mention the daily RP bonus moving to level VII, when you receive the bonus, the countries you are grinding are almost completely ground. What is the point of this? Not to mention Gaijin’s strict destruction criteria, even AI can steal the player’s heavily damaged targets and confiscate most of their earnings XD

The spawns I really don’t see as an issue but thats just my opinion. People have wanted larger maps for Battleships because the ranges we spawned at previously were the warship equivalent of knife-fighting distance and it reduced everyone’s survivability.
The better AI accuracy I haven’t really noticed, the only AI changes I know of for Naval were the reduced accuracy to AI-controlled weapons like the secondary battery and anti-air. I did have one of my deaths stolen by an AI when I was in USS Helena so I thought that was pretty funny xD
The RP bonus part should’ve been expected honestly. It’s something that’s constantly gonna be adjusted with every increase in BRs and Ranks.
The new hull health mechanic I’m actually a fan of, balance-wise it stops people from using the front of their ship as a bullet sponge and if you think about it it’s more realistic than what we had before. Destroyers and PT Boats were surviving a lot more damage than they realistically should. The new system plays into the “reserve buoyancy” part of ship design, where a ship can take on so much water and not have to worry about completely sinking.
