Q-5D

@阿依土鳖的罗初

I think it comes from the Q5D maintenance manual or operation manual — I don’t have that book.

Nah I’d be more than happy with another Q-5 for the 9.3 lineup, the biggest shortcoming of the A is the RWR and it was what got me killed the most, the D will fix this by providing a better one, like I said in my previous comment I don’t know if the PD/GPS navigation radar would give it CCRP but currently only the L variant has it in the game and would be a welcomed addition, the extra ordnance is nice but personally I keep mentioning every time I can the lack of 57mm rocket pods, if they really want to add it but don’t want to force players to grind another Q-5, it can be folded with the A

Nevermind if the list is accurate as it is currently then Q-5D is gonna be a premium, what a shame.

Hopefully gaijin will consider adding it’s TT counterpart or something similar. Q-5F will be perfect

Isn’t F the predecessor to the L and gets LGB and self laze? Q-5E would be better fit.

Personally though I’d like to the Q-5J.

I’ll take it, but the D being a premium makes me wonder if they are gonna add it with AAM or would have the same lack of them as the Q-5s, I don’t see why would anyone spend 60$ on a vehicle with limited capacity, limited flares and limited defense

But if they add the AAM which is only mentioned on documents but never seen in a photograph then what would stop them from adding them to the A and the L?

Also since you guys are here, support the bug report to increase the flare count on Q-5L
Apparently an user on the Chinese side went to a museum display where they had in exposition a bunch of avionic equipment for the JH-7 and the Q-5L and this image was uploaded:

The bug report has reached a lot of support but I don’t see it mentioned on the English side of things

Q-5 was designed with AAM in mind but i haven’t ever seen photos with live AAM fitted? All said to have capability though so…

According to the suggestion the Q-5F would have unique Air-to-Ground missiles in the form of the TL-10A but it would lack IFF in the avionics department

It would definitely be an novelty considering that all the AGMs of China are limited to top tier and the Q-5F could go into the 10.3-10.7 category, I don’t think it’s worth of 11.0 tbh

I was mainly interested in it because of the TL-10A missile

Can it self designate TL-10A? Cause D doesnt have the hardware for targeting pod.

I could see Q-5F being 10.7?, i dont know capabilities of TL-10A well but i know it can only carry 2?

Q-5F should have reinforced wings so it might also be able to take 2 LGB?

It’s TV/IR/mmW guided

But the low flying feature might be a problem in GRB

Potentially but gaijin seems to have an issue of modeling cover on maps haha

TV and IR guided seems pretty good, but SAP warhead may be troublesome with how its targeting may be modeled

there is also an alternative option

2 of them, like they say “nothing burger” but from the looks of it seems like Q-5L is more advanced equipment wise since it has 2 antennas, MFD and the integrated targeting camera on the nose if everything worked out as I’m imagining it would be something like

Q-5L:

  • 2 × 250kg LGB/ 2 × 500kg LGB
  • Current RWR
  • 34 large caliber countermeasures(if the report goes through)
  • Same carrying capacity as it is currently

Q-5F:

  • 2 × TL-10A Air-to-Ground missiles
  • Slightly worse RWR than Q-5L
  • 16 large countermeasures(or none depending on how devs feel)
  • Reduced carrying capacity

So it would be a player choice to take AGMs but worse avionics or more advanced ones but only LGBs

Both are same btw

I think the image shown is equipment from Q-5A and subsequent models, Q-5L + fitted with the one sent by JapanWeeb

Being a westerner i can only speculate though
