Mysterious and Unique Japanese Vehicles Thread

hey guys I know we are trying to figure out that ishi or ha-go tank thing but…
I have a question about this type 95 heavy photo.
image
The Main turret looks like that 100 Ton Tank super-heavy tank wooden mock-up or the type 91 heavy turret?
And the smaller turret in the front looks odd. reminds me of the oi front turret.

My guess it was some type of a testing platform and they used a type 95 hull?

It does look similar, but the mystery turret seems to be missing the piece that sticks out at a downwards angle, not to mention the angle of the former’s slope is too small when compared to that of the O-I.

You think it’s a completely different turret or a early version of it?
For example here the super jeep with the 37mm and how they changed the design of the gun shield. Probably some examples out there for gun breaches.

It really depends on when this picture as taken

Your solution would be increasing the opacity. On the very dark images as well as sharpness and whatever else is needed.

I’m guessing a different turret entirely, as the gun also seems to be a 37mm, not the 47mm the O-I used.

Maybe but either way it’s a new tank that can be added to war thunder.
I’m trying to find the orginal source guessing it’s this guy. He also says the location and sometime the date of the photos.

Too bad google reverse image search does not work for twitter that well. But if someone here can speak Japanese can you ask him about the photo?

If you can help with that I’d appreciate that. I honestly don’t know how to use photo editing stuff.

Ha, I originally found this same photo on Russian website VK, which I suppose pulled it from LiveJournal, or vice versa. But yes, I suppose contacting the Twitter account would be a good idea.

If on PC you can right click and use the “edit image” option, or if on phone you could edit on Google Photos or whatever other program it allows you.

I tried to increase the brightness, contrast, and shadow settings, but it doesn’t really reveal much else.

In this photo, part of a large tank can be seen in the back of the tank factory of the 2nd Tank Regiment in Chiba. Judging from its wide track width and the suspension design similar to that of the Type 89, it is thought to be one of the Type 95 heavy tanks, of which only four were produced. This is published on page 15 of my booklet “Photo Collection [Army Tank Regiment 2]”, so please take a look at that as well (^ ^;

Nice photo, I had seen this previously on the cover of J-Tank #34, good to see there’s a full image available online as well.

better photos for the 3rd tank.
looks very similar to Škoda tank like the Š-I-D but like you said rear chassis is too different.

I mean there’s likely to be many very rare images and vehicles in various Japanese magazines such as J-Tank and Maru.

In the Chi-Nu prototype suggestion for example I recently posted another magazine excerpt that mentioned something along the lines of a “swivel-mounted Type 95 field gun mounted on a Type 1 Chi-He chassis in 1943”.
