My next PC build (off topic) - help from any PC builders needed

Okay I’m building a new PC soon and I’ve done my research, I have removed the RGB to makeup for RAM prices. I need some more opinions on people who use these parts or general PC experts before I fully invest.

I play BeamNG, automation, Crew motor Fest, BTF6, WT, asseto Corsa

The 250GB SSD is a boot drive, the SN850X as a game storage device and the patriot bust as a small/ non essential storage

I’m certainly not qualified to comment on the main specs but that is NOT enough storage. Get atleast 1tb, preferably 2.

Yeah you are gonna need more storage, I’d recommend swapping one of the m.2 to a 2tb one

Do you want to install the nautilus in the front or the top of the 4000D case?

Because I’m pretty sure the the 4000D only has space in the front, to be able to hold it in the top part you would need the 4000D RS.

dont get a 120gb ssd

those are generally made from shitty binned chips and suck badly

also look into DRAM buffer SSD’s

also dont get liquid cooling, bad idea unless you really know what you are doing

just get a beefy air cooler, like a noctua d14 or something

DRAM on SSDs generally is only relevant for SATA, not NVMe

lol, AIOs are just as easy as air coolers

thanks guys

Lmao 😂

So, AIO’s are quite easy to use ☝️

HOWEVER, unless you are getting a stupidly fast i9 or w/e AMD is stupid hot, Noctua Air coolers are absolutely AWESOME. Will recommend Noctua coolers and/or Noctua Fans over any other air cooler/fan company. Worth every single penny. I can write (copy) an essay’s worth of info if you really want me to @jamal_is_cool1 😂

i believe you bro, i just need something that can handle my 7950X3D for long sessions

Noctua just recently came out with new air coolers. Give me a sec to see if they say the newest ones can handle that CPU.

SO! The actual “biggest issue” with AIO’s that they really “only last” a few years. Even if everything goes perfectly, they will start to not work as well. At the 5 year mark you reaaaaaaaally need to think about replacing it. That is the biggest issue, they really do not last forever. No matter how good they are, and I DO think that AIO’s are good/great.

But a high quality air cooler like a Noctua will effectively last forever. Just something to keep in mind. If you do get an AIO, keep an eye on your CPU temps over the years, if they start to spike, you should immediately figure out if it is just your thermal paste that might need to be cleaned and reapplied, OR if the AIO is going bad. If the AIO does fully fail, clog, or whatever, it can fry your CPU. Maybe. Most modern CPU’s will self throttle, but it’s still not good to ignore it if your CPU temps start to climb later on.

One sec, getting some links from Noctua.

9070XT owner here (Red Devil LE). It is fantastic. Breaks no sweat with War Thunder.

You don’t need a Noctua these days for air. Thermalright does Peerless Assassin and Phantom Spirit which perform similar or on par with Noctua for a fraction of the price. I’ve used a few of them. You can even put the Noctua G2 fans on them if you really think Noctua fans are a point of difference.

However, I’m now on AIO and it’s working great.

PS: Your PSU leaves little room for expansion. Consider at least 800W. I’m now running 1200W.

I don’t care about price lol. Noctua fans last literally 30 years running non stop. I have not had ONE Noctua fan fail in the decade(s) that I have used them. But pretty much every single other fan I have used from any other company has eventually failed. All of them. Except the Noctuas. In the end I spend less by getting the Noctua stuff.

+1, extremely good idea to go over on wattage

I’m just saying. You’re now paying for a brand name. You get no performance benefit over cheap options.

Not true. Not true at all. The Noctua fans are light years ahead of everyone else. The data is there, plenty of it, not just from Noctua. And coupled with their coolers they are multiple generations ahead of everyone else. Again, I have computers that have run for 10+ year straight, 0 issues. I am not just talking about pure temp results. That is only one aspect of the topic.

Yeah, nah. Gamers Nexus did a whole breakdown of Noctua vs Peerless Assassin and the others. They were within 1-3o of each other. Not worth 3x the price. I don’t care how long you’ve used your Noctua. I’ve used them for heaps too. I’m talking about benchmarks.

Again, temps are only one part of the subject.

That’s great, I prefer to have my fans and coolers work for decades not just years 😉

You could strap the Noctua fans to the PE or SA and it would be same same. The copper bases, etc, are all going to last as long as you need. Anyway, this is all besides the point because he’s going AIO and not air, lol. However, if he has money to burn - he could use Noctua fans on the AIO’s heatsink. I replaced the stock fans on mine with Lian LI connectable fans. That was just so I only had to deal with one fan cable in the server case rather than three.
