it might have just been the vehicle and not the coupon you got

Does the vehicle show up in your tech tree?
If no:
Click the envelope icon (“messages”) bottom right in hangar, go to the “Economics” tab, look for when you received the vehicle. Does it say “coupon” or just showing the vehicle?
The SL crates can drop both coupons and automatically activated vehicles so you might have gotten the vehicle automatically activated and not as a coupon.
