Don’t think an extra 70cm of extra coverage is enough to warrant a BR increase.
I’m not sure where you got 70cm from, but that’s about double the coverage, if not more.
Pretty sure plated ERA like K-5 or Relikt are overperforming. I don’t think it should have a static effectiveness at all angles against KE. The flatter the angle, the less effective the ERA should be against KE.

T-80U/UM2/UD covers half of the side. Compared to the T-72, it covers significantly further down, to the right, and more to the left.
yep, just got into a game and i killed one right off the bat in a 9.3 vehicle, they’re not impenetrable at all, pretty easy to kill actually
It’s certainly killable, but its ERA can stop entire dart rounds at its BR. The ERA also randomly acts as a spall liner.
It should probably be 10.7.
The T-80UD’s side ERA covers up to half of the autoloader. The T-72B covers up to the front of the autoloader. This shit is not double.
You’re not understanding mass. The ERA on the T-80 series is larger and covers more overall.
while they both have 18 blocks of ERA, the T-80’s blocks are significantly larger overall and cover more vital areas. The ERA plates on the T-80 series are also prone to eating all spall from dart rounds, as seen in this screenshot.
I’m not suggesting it should be 11.0, its mobility isn’t great. I don’t believe it fits at 10.3, though.
The ERA, reload, and armor make this vehicle more than capable to sit at 10.7, so it doesn’t fight 9.3 vehicles. It’s not fair for a Leopard 1A5, among other vehicles, to fight this monster.

Frontally, its survivability is the exact same as the BVM. The issue isn’t the vehicle itself. The ERA is the problem.
Kontakt-5 on a T-80U shouldn’t see 9.3
The balancing factor is that the T-80UD doesn’t get thermals, its slow, lacks depression, and has poor survivability which is why its not quite on the level of the Leo2a4.
The only major difference between the T-80UD and UM2 is the mobility.
From my experience, this vehicle is not prone to dying easily. It eats shells constantly.
I primarily use it at 12.0 and still almost have a 2KD in it.
That’s great man but your results are subjective. Oh and the T-80UM2 is not the T-80UD.
The armor on the two is identical. They both lack Thermals.
The only difference is the mobility and APS.
The T-80UM2 does not die easily. They have the same armor. Therefore, when penetrated, they act the same.
Correct but your argument is weird it doesn’t apply to your stats at all because there are other factors why you might be performing well in the T-80UM2 like its enhanced mobility.

I don’t doubt the K-5 ERA is good. I mean I literally play Russia but again the T-80UD is at 10.3 because of factors other than its armour as I’ve already explained.
