You do know that U modification comes with much better protection compared to earlier t series? Thats one of reasons why soviets developed it. You can compare them in prot analysis instead

happened to me once in the T-72B3 “Arena” and never in the T-80UD. imo skill issue, it can’t happen THAT often.

that is not top speed, that’s hp/t ratio which affects acceleration and turning, not stop speed.

7 second isnt “slightly worse” mate. Its worst reload speed at toptier while 6s is at least equal to leo 2 aces and faster than chinese autoloaders.

both have the exact same armor from pure steel to ERA, with the T-72B (1989) having 2 pieces of ERA less than the T-80UD in the turret.

Its not that helpful especially at such resolution. T80b is at higher br because of better mobility and reload. And maybe 500x300 thermals.

2a4 in question doesnt have gen 2 tvd. 12.7 strv122b+ also dont have gen 2 gunner tvd (only for commander)

You just told one of reasons of those two being on different brs. Also ud used to outreload almost any opponent at 9.3-10.3 even tho their 6.7s reload was “slightly” worse. So its not that slightly.

Compared to what soviets have at 10.3 ud was just “pay to get tank better than free to play tech tree analogs and even better than more expensive pack turms” so devs changed that ig. Doubt people will buy turms more (especially after ue1 introduction) but t64b and t72b now look like smth worth playing and not just embodiment of mocking f2p players

Aye I noticed man, bit of a wild take but seeing as the 80UD is still one of russias best tanks at that BR.
The T80B is slightly better due to the mobility but the UD has the same firepower, better protection, better optics.

so you’ve no idea about how the game works lol the T80U is 11.7 with gen 1 gunner thermals, leopard 2a5 and 6 are top tier! with gen 1 gunner thermals.
M1A1 HC and M1A2 lack gen 2 thermals.

Gen 2 thermals are extremely rare at those BRs, the ZTZ 96A and (P) have them right enough.
But bar that I can’t really think of many 10.7s which actually get gen 2 thermals.

the T80UD doesn’t need thermals especially not gen 1 thermals which suck, it has a 13x modification on it’s optics exactly the same as the T80U and variants. or the T90A

the 7 second reload adds up to an extra shot every minute, that is a massive boon in comparison to the T72s, as wella s that the T80UD is far more mobile as it has around 200 horse power more.
