Move the Rooikat 105 Down to 9.3

I see no reason why the Rooikat 105 should be 9.7 when the arguably better Rooikat MTTD sits at 9.3 with an autoloader with the trade off of 1 less crew member and no smokes.

A manually loaded cannon with a 2 second longer reload and a higher BR is nowhere near a fair trade for a few smokes and an extra crew member.

the wiki page for the MTTD is also outdated and states that it lacks the DM33 round that was supposed to justify the higher BR of the Rooikat 105 in the first place:
“While it lacks the most powerful DM33 round of the Rooikat 105, the ammunition options are still generally sufficient for the opponents the MTTD will face”

Radkampfwagen is fine at 10.0, wouldn’t mind if it got DM63 or a reload buff though

Then rooikat BR is also fine cause there isn’t much difference in effectiveness

No. It was bullying the sht out of 8.7s, its fine at 10.0.

Radkampfwagon is significantly faster and has frontal autocannon immunity. With addition of trunnion (don’t know if it has it, 2K does though) its breach has also become hell, on top of already trolly 2K turret.

30 hp/t on an MBT chassis with rather trolly armor/damage model. Its simply far too mobile.

What? literally any stray bullet kills it.

I will give you it is mobile but that is all it has

The hull on AMX-40 is quite trolly, it literally doesn’t produce spall quite often. If you have good vitality you can sustain a hull shot easily.

It’s a zero armor, mid gun, fast mobility MBT. It didn’t “bully” anything like that, it was just exploited by high skill players as it was a good tank.

Please dude. I’ve spaded the AMX-40 recently and I’m not a bad player. It does not have any of this.

It was too good for 9.7. The 30 hp/t is just ludicrous for that BR.

Lack of thermals hurts it a bit on long range engagements and vs ESS, DM33 is still a great shell at 10.0.

It does though, the hull on all AMX-30/2/40 variants is just a no-go.

Yeah? Autocannons easily frontally penetrate you and any 105mm+ gun past 8.7 won’t struggle either

Seems like the guy only ever faced the AMX-40 with low caliber autocannons. And even if the hull had some usable armour (it does not) the turret is tissue paper anyway.

even autocannons can often penetrate you in places such as the turret neck quite easily

They can just go straight through the turret as well. The only thing that stops them is the hull. But that does not really help when they go through the turret

There are a few problems with this Rooikat 105 in-game.

  1. It should have Gen 2 thermals for gunner and commander
  2. Should have the (customer optional) storage box on the turret
  3. Should have 5-6 second reload
  4. Traction is too low
  5. Top speed is too low. You sometimes see these Rooikats on public roads going more than 120kp/h (though illegal most of RSA)
  6. Also missing DM63, which is also called Fin Mk.3 or Fin 3 in South Africa
