More Equal Vehicle Distribution Across All Nations

Can we move towards adding vehicles more equally to all nations, rather than having a clear preference for a few?

this is the important question need to be asked.

I’m not here to bash the developers I know balancing, modelling, and researching takes immense effort. But looking at many major updates over the past years, a pattern becomes obvious. The “Big Three” (USA, Germany, USSR) consistently receive significantly more ground and air vehicles per update than many other nations. Sometimes they get entire new lines or multiple top-tier additions, while nations like France, Italy, Japan, Sweden, Israel, or even Britain might get only one or two vehicles, often copy-paste or event rewards, and sometimes nothing at all.

The current situation creates several problems:

  1. Tech tree stagnation: Some nations have gaping holes in their lineups, especially at mid-to-high tiers, making grinding frustrating and leaving them less competitive. For example, minor nations often lack effective SPAA, strike aircraft, or light tank options that the “Big Three” have in abundance.
  2. Loss of national identity: When players know their favourite minor nation will likely get next to nothing in the next patch, it kills enthusiasm. Many players want to specialise in, say, French or Italian vehicles, but feel punished because the support just isn’t there.
  3. Balance and matchmaker diversity: Over-relying on the same few nations leads to repetitive matchmakers. More equal distribution would naturally bring more variety to battles, which is good for everyone.

I’m not asking for mathematically identical numbers per update. I understand some nations have larger historical vehicle pools. But the disparity often feels less about availability and more about priority. For instance, there are hundreds of interesting, unique vehicles for minor nations that have been passed over for years the French navy is still waiting, Italian top-tier air is sparse, Japanese ground forces have barely been touched, and Israeli air tree was, until recently, almost entirely forgotten. Meanwhile, we often see yet another slightly different Sherman, T-80, or F-16 variant for the big nations.

What I would like to see:

A more balanced long-term roadmap where each update cycle makes a conscious effort to bring at least a couple of meaningful, non-copy-paste additions to every nation, not just the top three.

When a new mechanic or weapon type is introduced (like Fox-3 missiles, advanced SAMs, etc.), try to distribute the first vehicles across a wider range of nations, rather than giving multiple options to USA/USSR/Germany while others wait six months or more to catch up.

Better communication about the devs’ selection process. Are there historical research challenges? Community polls for minor nations? Let us know.

I love this game and I want to see all nations thrive, not just the same ones getting every shiny new toy. A more equal approach would make the game richer, fairer, and more interesting for the entire playerbase.

Thanks for reading.

This is a recipe for infinite copy paste. This is how we ended up with 6 M44s

Maintaining national identity requires some sacrifices. Sweden doesnt get a tech tree heavy tank because they never had one in real life and thats fine

Fun fact. Japan and Israel ground have both received only one event vehicle ever. Including every seasonal event, regular event, and battle pass. For comparison, here is the amount for every other nation
US: 21
DE: 24
RU: 26
GB: 17
CN: 5
FR: 10
IT: 7
SE: 4
Meanwhile Japan only has the 2.0 Ka-Chi from a summer event 5 years ago and Israel has the Sholef from an old battle pass

I’m surprised that people are surprised that countries with larger armament industries are represented with more vehicles in WT… ;-)

As a Thai-Irish person, the only Irish vehicle in the game is a F_CKING PREMIUM BOAT

And we have some vehicles that could be added

And we need more Thai vehicles

There is no preference for any nations.
Nations get vehicles when they finish development, and Gaijin is working on hundreds of vehicles at once.

Good, more vehicles going tech tree.
