What they said there is true, they do impact IIR seekers, but thats not the whole story
https://www.spie.org/news/5614-ir-imaging-seekers-may-be-very-resistant-to-laser-jamming
again, i will repeat myself.
unless we want another “this is clear marketing lie” situation, i will give weight to the words of diehl over the words of gaijin.
diehl engineers trump gaijin software defvelopers when it comes to seeker technology
35km one is slightly slower and less range but still has explosive
Do you have evidence if it being effective against laser DIRCM?
If absolutely nothing else. Each node could only defend against 1 missile at a time. Fire enough missiles, and one would not be jammed. Currently you could spam every single missile and they would all be jammed. This is a major change they have planned iirc

Indeed, a defense network of SPAAs would be epic, although hard to implement but I’m sure it can be done to an extent.
Have you tried to report these?
The report you linked uses them.
too many times… i think thrice its been shot down
@Kingtiez-live i might tell you why.
It would be something that i call Selective Reading from the devs. I had my share of it.
Symptom of it consists of developers denying your claim after not reading the whole source.
Example from this report would be how devs say teh source talks exclusively about DIRCM, barely about LIRCM, while it clearly says blinding lasers.

Example from my experiences would be talking about radars refering to SPYDER and Iron Fist.

Community Bug Reporting System (not mine report, but i am dealing with it)
In both cases developers read only total elevation coverage, and assume the elevation is ±, making them provide limited elevation coverage, ignoring the fact both radars are said to provide hemispheric coverage.
Just the manufacturer saying that it’s resistant is not enough imo
In the r24t weapons employment manual it says it’s resistant to flares and lasers, does that mean that it’s resistant? Ofc not, that missile is 50 years old
employment manuals are not the same as developer brochures.
and yes the R-24T does posses a certain level of flare rejection (at shorter ranges)
It doesn’t get irccm in game jut different range band values
You know that by your definition, then Manufacturer saying Laser DIRCM being able to blind IIR seekers would also not be enough.
Well I think Irist is resistant irl anyways, I definitely think the way it’s implemented in the game it’s dumb. I’m just saying manufacture word isn’t end all be all
IRCCM is a very broad term that encapsulates any and all forms of IR counter countermeasures
yeah ik, we also are pushing because the words of gaijin developers are… not correct nor the end all be all
In this game case, when it comes to modern things they mostly are.
Developers take their freedom in sometimes rejecting them for any reason they deem good, but most of the time it is treated at face value.
Yes, the game implementation is a very simplistic one.
