exactly and half the jets at top tier have less than 100-150 CMs and only half of that will be used for flares or less.
we would atleast need 1 fighter with maws for every tt before they add IIR missiles.

although its made by the same company mica is kind of a competitor to meteor, you ideally want to sell people on your most expensive product rather than the cheaper alternative, although yeah as far as selling to EF2k nations Aim120 is the only alternative.

Britain, Italy and Germany has MAWS with the Typhoon
France has MAWS with the Rafale
Sweden and Japan should have MAWS with the Gripen C, but that hasnt been added yet. Though they both could and probably should get the Gripen E that does have MAWS
No idea for US or Israel
Im guessing Soviets next jet will have MAWS and same for China.

Not really, mica is only available on rafale and mirages, while meteor and amraam are on like every nato plane. It makes more sense comparing it to anraam than mica
Chinese jets already get maws, and the next flanker for Russia gets maws (su-35s). I think us/israel tested maws on their fourth gens but idk if they’re actually in service

I think its only used on the Rafale and Mirage because they are French made aircraft and no one else really wants to use MICA

2 r27et vs 8x mica ir , these IIR missiles also have more range than current ir missiles , so 4-6x IIR missiles. u can easily pop 1 flare randomly and defeat an r27et from long range that wont be the case with mica ir.
*4. By the time mica ir comes su-35 likely is in game. Also I bet they would add r-27et with vastly improved seekehreads when mica ir comes, not the 80s seekerhead which we have in game rn.
Su-27 had loads before MAWS was really wide spread
if they add the modernized r27et along with mica ir then people would complain more.
Mica ir has datalink plus loal, 27et is still limited to actually having to first get an ir signature.
su-27 can carry 2x , i think su33 or su34 is the one that can carry 4 r27et , iirc su33 was added along with the rafale/eft.
