I also saw here a picture of a prototype F-2 with an aim-7m(?) on one of the outerpylons. I wonder if that translated to the production F-2.
nah XF-2A from the ADTW squadron probably tested if its possible and didnt work (ADTW is like a mad scientist but for aviation)
This photo was first prototype without any electronics, so it may be just demonstration. There was claiming about cracks issue due to carrying AIM-7 on outer pylons, but also were claimings that they fixed these issues. I would like to see original sources of these words. Serial models were flying with only 4+4 loadout.
So, basically “We don’t know”. Model we saw had 2 more AAM-4 on most inner pylons. So, I expect 6+4 loadout

Im hoping so. After germany im considering grinding japan and the F-2 is up there as one of favorite japanese aircraft :D
Looking at the trailer and the F2 that will be included in the game… What mechanics do you think will also be included? Because if it’s Japanese, it’s new and advance technology. I’m betting on EW/ECM mechanics.
Hopefully y’all get 6+4. The F-2 should’ve been added with the F/A-18s in December at the latest instead of the Eurocanards. It’s the least Gaijin could do.

Plus, each scene had white or blue pylons that I think they were from different points of development so who knows. I do think there is a strong chance of HMD (and sniper pod if there’s l-jdams)
It has the missle pylons on the fuel tank stations i just hope it was purly for the cinematic that they didnt show it

Japan uses the top tier US pilot model in game, hence JHMCS. Even if they were to give the F-2 an HMD, it shouldn’t be that one.

Technically yes, stations 5/7 (the ones with fuel tanks) have all the necessary connections and markings for MRMs. They also modeled this on the leaked CDK model, where these stations mounted the LAMS-7 rail used to launch AIM-7/AAM-4.
But at the same time this is not a loadout that is ever used in reality, so we’ll have to see if they ended up removing the capability or just preferred the usual 4+4 loadouts look for the teaser.

This was only ever tested with mockup armament and discarded because it caused wing cracking and flutter when combined with the ASM-2 that it was intended to be equipped with. The structural issues were fixed, but this was never functionally implemented and the only thing that is mounted there are LAMS-6 missile rails for the AIM-9/AAM-3.

Looks like it’s just using US pilot model here, so it doesn’t mean anything. It could have it, since there was at least a prototype, but it could also be missing HMD.
I would really like if they made a new pilot model for the F-2 with Shimadzu prototype HMD, but since that’s an F-2 specific prototype only I sadly doubt it.

IRL accurate loadout.
We’ll see on the dev stream / server if that’s actually Gaijins decision or if they simply wanted to show a service loadout for the teaser.
Though since it’s only a theoretical loadout that’s unconfirmed I don’t think our chances are very good for getting it added if they decided to scrap the inner MRMs.
