And this isn’t in game yet?
There’s no direct evidence of one but Gaijin could add it anyway. We just don’t know what they will do
Even if it pulls more its still a clamped value. All planes that have AoA overrides in game are ones which can completely override pitch authority using them. Even in over-G the FBW system om the F-2 still translates your pitch input and limits it from exceeding its values (although in over-g they may be higher then normal).
Even when the flight sensors fail and the F-2 reverts to degraded flight logic it still uses a computer to control them, theres just no escaping the computer on it.
The +3 G itself is as you say, going to translate to more instantaneous pull which would be more than F-16C as they are limited IIRC with no override at all.
Also F-15s should not have any override IRL according to devs but they do in game so they could be removed or more aircraft could get them
The only way I see an F-2 worse than F-16 is if they’re both at max fuel since F-2 carries more and would be at a disadvantage (and also considering carrying no missiles)
IRL F-15s use an analog input, so it would be more like they should only have AoA override permenantly enabled lmao.
Nah i hate the AoA override on the F-15s in game rn, its kinda bugged and has some snap roll issues full real doesnt.
Yea tbf, I don’t ever use em as I don’t ever see the need lol. Anything I need it for already would outclass me anyway and using it on flankers is just asking for an r-73
NGL I really want an F-86D in the game, even though it’ll be quite useless.
Depending on gaijin’s implementation… it could be as good as the other F-16s, a bit better, or a bit worse. It’s still an F-16 at heart with an F-16 engine.
what if it blue screens? :)
I’d stop grinding Thai sub tree to get it, then spade it for the Thai sub tree. XD
Speculative, but we shall see.
F-15E and Su-30SM being out-sustained is obvious though.
That’s a lot…
The Typhoon and Rafale’s FBW systems aren’t doing that in War Thunder currently, so I doubt F-2’s will either.
Gaijin refusing to model anything properly speedrun any%
The point i was trying to make by it being capped at 22 degrees is how low that is, virtually every plane can exceed that. F-16s can pull up to 26 and eurofighters pull over 30 at low speeds.
Of course, i do not expect it to be restricted in game, itll br able to go over it, but considering how low its safe operating limits are, i do not expect it to pull much more, especially given that even with the lower AoA it still managed to have such good instantanious turn rate
And, yeah, i know theres a good chance it doesnt come to game like ive said, but if its to be anywhere irl accurate, it should perform kind of like this.
i mean iirc its a pretty advanced hydraulic control system so maybe there are some limitations imposed, that can be bypassed if necessary
This is probably the thing to focus on anyway. It’s not like AoA is always a good thing. Being able to actually turn and get inside someone’s turn circle efficiently is also a good thing. So I guess at the end of the day that’s the real question of how Gaijin will model that
Honestly, I don’t see a reason to doom and gloom about it just yet. For all we know they could make it a UFO before they nerf/change it few months after release (or not)
Guys you will never fucking guess what i found.
The fabled Shimadzu HMD for the F-2, it actually fucking exists.
POG. But its probably only for ADTW for now , isnt it?
All F-2s were modified with provisionally increased processing power and throughput for HMD (along with other things). But there’s no actual official mention of it being tested. In theory gaijin could very well give it to all of them, even though at best it was tested by ADTW irl.
The maximum AOA Typhoon pulls is around 750 - 820kph, I know this cause I was the one that tested it, and it was =/<27 degrees.
At low speed it peaks at 23.7.
Now, you might see a vehicle do a cobra, but if you record that at 60 FPS it’s not going to a high AOA recorded, cause a cobra takes time.
I was talking about IRL, i have proof, but it’d be a shame if the EF-2000 flight manual made it’s way onto the forums for a fourth time, so i can’t send it.
That being said, i’m surprised it’s that low, even an F-15 can pull like 34 in game, without even needing it’s AoA override.
F-15 in-game pulls less.
Well well well. Now it’s in the realm of plausibility
