Mitsubishi F-15J

So is the one in game an F-15JM/MJ/whatever it’s called? And is the unofficial “Kai” a version from the early 2000s or the late 2000s? Would that put it in 2015 F-16C range or like… 2000 F-15C MSIP II range?

F-15J(M) is the official designation from what we can find atm.

F-15J “Kai” doesn’t exist, its a fictional name.

dang, why did they have to name it so ugly

I’m aware that it was “fictional” but my understanding was that it was unofficial, yet commonplace enough to be used to differentiate. In the same way as something like the M10 GMC being called Wolverine, or P-51D-30 instead of F-51D-30.
But still, my question is I suppose which modernized variant of the F-15J is this one specifically? The first MSIP from the early 2000s that could use AMRAAMs and AAM-4s or the later MSIP that has a new radar and also can use AAM-5 and AAM-4B? In essence, is this the last F-15J or a stepping stone to the last one?

We have the MTDP in-game, or as you said “the later MSIP”.
The only variant that could come in the future is the F-15JSI, but it has yet to be built.

Ah, thank you. Its very confusing when there’s modernizations and no name change lol. I guess this would be, for now, the penultimate F-15J. I hope that if/when they add the stuff like AIM-120C-5, AAM-4B, R-77-1, and stuff like that, they don’t just move this one up but also add an in-between version as well. I feel like if they ever decompress BRs the existence of the very powerful ARH missiles will leave a gap practically everywhere.

In reality there is no distinction, all are called F-15J. It doesn’t matter whether they are called Kai or MJ, as long as it makes the distinction easier to make. In the game, the only reason it is called that is because the supply unit called it “F-15J(M)” in the administrative document.

Yea, honestly I think F-15J Kai probably makes the most sense with the next F-15 being F-15J JSI.

F-15J(M) just looks so rough and weird. At least F-15J (M) would be more passable but if we start just using any document we want, then we’ll have weird designations and cause more confusion.

Personally, I prefer the same naming scheme as the F-4EJ for consistency.

When will gaijin fix AAM4? Didn’t they notice AAM4’s terrible usage rate?

They didn’t even notice that their current AAM-4 is an AAM-4B and gave it a MICA motor that stayed during initial update release, only to be replaced by a cheap copy of their AIM-120C rather than a proper AAM-4 motor.

I am fully convinced they know nothing about AAM-4 and just hope DMM finds a way to fix it as Gaijin seems to reject all player attempts to do so.

The japan game, manga site which also run KanCollect DMM?
Is they just manage WT in japan and no ability to mod those game file or they can give gaijin opinion?

They did research for Gaijin before on the F-4EJ Kai, AAM-3 and SUB-1-II from what I can remember. I’d say if they help with AAM-4 too it can finally be accurate.

i looked at the source that everyone claims for the aim120b, but it only specifies as just some generic aim120, is there a solid reason why it could be a b
